District Poonch Rope Skipping Championship 2026 Concludes with Great Enthusiasm

Poonch, July 15: The two-day District Poonch Rope Skipping Championship 2026 concluded successfully at BSF Ground, Rajpura Mandi, Poonch (J&K) with the enthusiastic participation of 60 athletes from the district.

Shri Gajender Kumar (2IC), 53 BN BSF, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Shri Abhay Matho (Deputy Commandant), 53 BN BSF Mandi Mandir Poonch, Ms. Dhania Sharma (Physical Educator), and the President & General Secretary of the District Poonch Rope Skipping Association were present as the Guests of Honour.

Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the organisers in promoting Rope Skipping in the region and distributed medals & Certificates to the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Raisa Kousar General Secretary, District Poonch Rope Skipping Association expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, participants, officials, coaches, and the 53 BN BSF for their valuable support and cooperation in making the championship a grand success.

The Championship was organised by the District Poonch Rope Skipping Association under the aegis of the Association of J&K Skipping Rope, affiliated Member of Indian Rope Skipping Federation with the objective of preparing players for the upcoming National Championships and promoting the sport at the grassroots level.

Day 1 Update – 7th Srinagar District Rope Skipping Championship 2026

Day 1 of the 7th Srinagar District Rope Skipping Championship 2026, currently underway at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Khanyar, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 60 boys representing 8 institutions across the district.

Vision School of Education emerged as the early leader in the medals tally, delivering impressive performances across multiple events. They were closely followed by DPMS Gasoo in second place and GVEI Elahi Bagh in third, making the competition highly exciting from the very first day.

Medals were distributed by the Principal of the host institution, Wahida Sheikh, along with Syed Shazia Abass (Physical Education Lecturer), who congratulated the young athletes for their outstanding performances and sportsmanship.

The championship is being organised by the Association of JK Skipping Rope, affiliated with the Indian Rope Skipping Federation.
