J&K Ball Badminton Association Successfully Conducts Selection Trials for Senior National Team 2026–27

Srinagar, August 24, 2026: The Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association (JKBBA) successfully conducted the Selection Trials for the J&K Senior National Ball Badminton Team for the 2026–27 season at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium (SKISC), Srinagar.

The trials were organized in preparation for the 72nd Senior National Ball Badminton Championship (Men & Women), scheduled to be held at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, from September 23 to 29, 2026.

The selection trials were conducted under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council. The proceedings were overseen by Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Manager, Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, and Mr. Iqbal Ahmad, Manager, Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, who attended the trials as an observer.

The Selection Committee comprised senior office bearers and technical officials of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, including Mrs. Arsheena Malik, General Secretary, J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice President, Ball Badminton Federation of India; Mr. Mohsin Farooq, Vice President, JKBBA; Mr. Zahid Mustafa Bhat, Member, JKBBA; and Mr. Basit Khan, Coach, J&K Ball Badminton Association.

Following a comprehensive and transparent evaluation of the participating athletes, the Selection Committee shortlisted 16 men and 16 women from a pool of 20 players in each category.

The shortlisted players will now undergo a 21-day residential coaching camp, after which the final squad comprising 10 men and 10 women will be selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the 72nd Senior National Ball Badminton Championship.

The venue, dates and detailed schedule of the residential coaching camp, along with the mandatory screening tests, will be announced by the Association shortly.

The J&K Ball Badminton Association congratulated all the shortlisted players and extended its best wishes to them for the upcoming coaching camp. The Association expressed confidence that the selected athletes will work hard during the preparation phase and put up a strong performance at the national championship.

Important Notice Regarding Objections

Any player or individual wishing to raise an objection regarding the selection trials may submit their grievance to the Selection Committee, J&K Ball Badminton Association, by contacting 9682365877.

The objection must clearly mention the Name, Address, Contact Number and Nature of the Objection. All objections must be submitted within seven days from the date of this notice.

J&K Ball Badminton Association to Hold Selection Trials for Senior & Sub-Junior National Championships

Srinagar, August 21: The J&K Ball Badminton Association is conducting Selection Trials-cum-21-Day Residential Coaching Camp for the selection of the J&K teams for the upcoming 72nd Senior National Ball Badminton Championship (Men & Women), Session 2026-27, scheduled to be held in Andhra Pradesh from 23rd to 29th September 2026, and the 45th Sub-Junior National Ball Badminton Championship (Boys & Girls), Session 2026-27, scheduled to be held at Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, from 3rd to 7th October 2026.

The Selection Trials will be conducted at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, on 24th August 2026 at 10:00 AM. The trials will be followed by a 21-day Residential Coaching Camp from 25th August to 14th September 2026 at the same venue.

All J&K UT Ball Badminton district units have been requested to forward their entries on or before 23rd August 2026. Players interested in participating in the selection process may register by contacting the General Secretary, J&K Ball Badminton Association, at 9682365877.

Players can also register through SMS/WhatsApp on the same number by sending their Name, Parentage, Date of Birth and District.

The Association has made it mandatory for all participating players to bring their District-level and UT-level Ball Badminton certificates, two passport-size photographs, and original as well as photocopies of their age-proof documents. All the prescribed documents are compulsory for appearing in the selection trials.

The J&K Ball Badminton Association has urged eligible and interested players from across the Union Territory to participate in the trials and make the most of the opportunity to represent J&K at the National level.

42nd Sub junior national Ball badminton Championship 2026-27 at Chattishgarh

Bandipora, June 20, 2026: The 4th District Bandipora Ball Badminton Championship for boys & girls session 2026-27 concluded successfully at SK Stadium, Bandipora, marking another significant milestone for the promotion of grassroots sports in the district.

The two-day championship was organized by the District Bandipora Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with Hills & Hearts Foundation and Star Sports Academy Bandipora, under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.

The championship witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 130 young athletes from various schools,Colleges and clubs across the district. A special focus was placed on tribal and grassroots inclusion, enabling children from remote and underserved areas to actively participate and showcase their sporting talent on a larger platform.

The event was also aligned with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, promoting sports as a powerful tool to encourage a healthy lifestyle and steer youth away from drug abuse and other social evils.

The inaugural day was graced by Mr. Ajaz Zargar, SSP Bandipora, as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests included Master Ayaz Ahmad Bhat, Incharge Manager SK Stadium Bandipora, and noted social activist Mr. Rizwan.

On the concluding day, Major Kunal of 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) attended as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further graced by President Awardee Mr. Kifayatullah Malik, SHO Bandipora, and Mr. Sahil Muzaffar, District Secretary Anantnag Ball Badminton Association, as Special Guests.

The championship was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Mr. Raashid Gulzar, District Secretary, Bandipora Ball Badminton Association, with valuable support from Mr. Majid Rafiq, Mr. Mohammed Saleem, and the dedicated team of Star Sports Academy Bandipora.

The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, Jammu & Kashmir Ball Badminton Association, participating schools, coaches, officials, and parents for their continued support in making the championship a grand success.

The Association congratulated all participating players for their outstanding sportsmanship and performance and reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening the sporting culture in the region.
