It is with great disappointment and surprise that we learned about the decision regarding the incomplete first semifinal of the Kurhama Volleyball Tournament.

The match was stopped due to bad light because there were no proper lighting facilities at the venue. If this tournament is truly being conducted according to the official rules and regulations of volleyball, then those rules should be respected—not decisions influenced by spectators or favoritism.

According to the rules, the incomplete semifinal should be replayed. Instead, completely new rules seem to have been created, which has left us shocked and disappointed.

Our team, Center Team × Brown Munde × Azgar Army, consists of national-level players from Jammu & Kashmir. We came here to play volleyball, not to be part of unfair decisions. Being told to simply continue from the same score under these circumstances is unacceptable. If that was the plan, a coin toss would have been a more honest way to decide the result.

If the opposing team is truly strong and confident, we believe they should have no problem playing a proper rematch.

It is also unfortunate that our team never demanded any money or refreshments from the Kurhama Volleyball Committee, while other teams were reportedly brought in from Punjab with financial support and even received per-match payments.

Our squad includes some of the finest volleyball players from across Jammu & Kashmir, with players traveling from Jammu, Kulgam, Qazigund, and other districts simply because of their passion for the sport. We always participated with the belief that fair play would prevail, but sadly, favoritism appears to matter more than the rules of volleyball.

With great regret, we have decided that none of our players will participate in any future volleyball tournaments in Kurhama or the Ganderbal district unless transparency, fairness, and official volleyball regulations are respected.
