DAK BANGLA HOMES – A Homestay Nestled within the enchanting forests of Mashobra, a 45 minute drive from the center of Shimla town lie the Dak Bangla Homes.
The property commands an astounding and panoramic view of the Western Himalayan, Kinnaur & Spiti Ranges. The two Villas, built in an aesthetic and innovative architectural blend of traditional stone & wood, (typical of Himachali hill-homes) and modern glass windows, customized verandahs , pantries/kitchens, etc. The architecture has also harmoniously captured the spectacular view from all rooms. he 2 bedrooms with attached baths are tastefully furnished and have all necessary modern amenities with the added luxury of a private verandah each. The large garden with its ample private spaces is are well suited to spend a restful day watching the various moods and colors of the Ranges or reading: while the well appointed living and dining room make for an ideal place to settle into for the evenings. Meals are home cooked- north Indian; with some vital ingredients like vegetables and milk products coming fresh everyday from the owner’s nearby organic farm and orchard. As the Villas are set among natural indigenous Himalayan forests with rich flora & fauna- horse riding, treks and walks of varied levels with or without a guide, bird watching, cycling, interactive participatory horticultural farming and dairy initiatives, picnic lunches, as well as taxi services to places of nearby tourist interest (Kufri, Naldhera Golf Course, Shimla town, Chail, Narkanda, etc.) are some of the activities one can indulge in during the day. During the evening one can enjoy the log fire in the living room and choose from the small library of books, magazines, DVDs, Television with Tata Sky & DVD player and board games for entertainment.
