Begin Your Reiki Journey in Rishikesh

Sometimes, a new journey begins with a simple feeling — that there is something deeper within yourself waiting to be explored.

Reiki can be one of those journeys.

A journey of slowing down, becoming more present, listening inward and creating space for awareness. What begins with curiosity can develop into a meaningful personal practice and, for some, something they eventually feel inspired to share with others.

This September, join our Reiki Healing Level 1, 2 & 3 Course in Rishikesh at Himalayan Yoga Association.

Reiki is a traditional Japanese complementary wellness practice centered around gentle energy work, mindful presence and relaxation. Through Levels 1–3, you'll progress from the foundations and self-practice toward deeper Reiki techniques and practical applications.

◇ 11th–17th September
◇ Himalayan Yoga Association

Yoga begins with awareness — and sometimes, with cleansing. 🌿

At Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, students experience traditional yogic cleansing techniques as part of learning Hatha Yoga beyond asana.

During their Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, students are introduced to practices including:

👁️ Eye Cleansing with Eye Cups
A gentle cleansing practice using clean water and specially designed eye cups. Because the eyes are delicate, proper hygiene and technique are essential.

💧 Jal Neti
A traditional nasal cleansing technique using properly prepared lukewarm saline water and a Neti pot. Jal Neti is associated with Shatkarma (Shatkriya) practices in traditional Hatha Yoga.

🌿 Sutra Neti
A more advanced nasal cleansing practice in which a soft catheter or traditional thread is carefully passed through the nasal passage. This technique should be learned and practiced under the guidance of an experienced teacher, particularly for beginners.

Traditional Hatha Yoga is much more than flexibility and physical postures.

It is also about cleansing, breath, discipline, awareness, and preparing the body and mind for deeper yogic practices.

For our students, understanding these traditions is another step toward experiencing yoga not simply as something we do on the mat, but as a much broader system of practice.

Where yoga is not only studied — it is lived. 🧘‍♀️🏔️

During their Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, students at Himalayan Yoga Association step beyond the classroom to experience the culture, traditions and spiritual landscape that have shaped yoga for generations.

As part of this journey, our students visited Balkuwari Mata Mandir, a peaceful hilltop temple near Rishikesh surrounded by Himalayan nature.

Local tradition places the temple’s origins around 150 years ago. According to an account shared by the temple priest, a shepherd from Aamdi village is believed to have experienced the presence of Mata Balkumari here, leading to the establishment of a small shrine. The temple was later expanded, with shrines dedicated to Ganesh, Shiva and Kali. Reaching the temple requires a beautiful walk and roughly 400 steps — making the journey itself part of the experience.

This is what makes Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India so special.

Inside the school, students learn:
🧘 Hatha & Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
🌿 Pranayama & Meditation
📖 Yoga Philosophy
🦴 Anatomy, Alignment & Adjustment
🎓 Teaching Methodology & Practice

Outside the classroom, Rishikesh becomes another teacher — through the Ganga, Himalayan foothills, temples, ashram traditions and the spiritual culture that continues to surround everyday life here.

Yoga in Rishikesh is more than learning postures or earning a certificate. It is an opportunity to experience yoga closer to the cultural and spiritual environment in which its traditions have been practiced for generations.

Come to learn yoga. Leave having experienced much more than the classroom.

Slow down enough to feel what’s within 🌿

In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, Yin Yoga invites us to do something different - stay, breathe, soften, and listen.

At Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, Yin Yoga is not simply about holding a posture for longer. Through stillness, students develop deeper body awareness, patience, presence, and an understanding of how Yin complements more active styles of yoga. The training also explores areas such as Yin anatomy, fascia and joints, meditation, pranayama, energy, meridian concepts, alignment, adjustment, and teaching methodology.

Sometimes progress doesn’t come from pushing harder.

Sometimes it comes from softening enough to notice what the body and mind have been trying to tell us.

Ready to go deeper into Yin?

Join our 50, 100, 200, 300, 500-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Courses in Rishikesh, India, and explore Yin as both a personal practice and a path toward teaching.
