📚 What happens when dancers read together?

Today, we began Reading Laboratory, a new monthly initiative at Pune International Centre, jointly presented by our Art & Culture Area and the Centre of Contemporary Dance, led by contemporary and Kathak practitioner Hrishikesh Pawar.

The first session created a space to slow down, read, reflect and exchange ideas—exploring dance beyond movement and opening up conversations around artistic practice, the body, performance and more.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned as we bring you more from the Reading Laboratory and the conversations it sparks.

The energy is building as rehearsals for our Performance Showcase are in full swing!

From our beginners stepping onto the stage for their presentation to solo performances by our facilitators, this evening brings together learning, exploration and experimentation.

On this World Environment Day, we return to Utrai.

to the rehearsals of a powerful collaboration with the Pralay Band (Ecology Society Band), a contemporary Kathak journey inspired by the verses of mystical saint-poets.

Through movement, poetry, and live music, Utrai reflects on our growing distance from nature and the timeless wisdom of living simply and mindfully.

A reminder that what we seek is often already around us. As we mark World Environment Day, we revisit this work that invites us to reconnect with the sacredness of the natural world and the beauty of the everyday.
