Two opposite myths about executive presence, both wrong.
One. You either have it or you do not. False. It is a set of habits you can learn.
Two. You can fake it with a power pose. Also false. People sense performance over an unprepared person.
The truth. You cannot fake presence, but you can build it. From the inside, then it shows.

There was a senior leader who was not flashy. Soft spoken, unhurried. Yet when she spoke, the room went still.
Why? She spoke less than anyone, but every time it was considered and true. She never filled air to look important.
Because she was careful with words, her words carried weight. Saying less made people lean in.
Do you over speak or under speak in meetings?

Executive presence is used a lot and defined rarely. Many think it means being the loudest in the room. It does not.
Real presence is quieter. Steady, clear under pressure, means what they say. The same person in the corridor as in the boardroom.
Three things build it. Composure, clarity, consistency. None of them need a big personality.
Who do you know with real presence?

Closing the week on conflict. The key thing leaders should know. Conflict skill is trainable, not a personality you are born with.
In my programs people practise the moments they dread. A performance issue, disagreeing with a senior, mediating two colleagues. Structure, rehearsal, feedback.
Teams that learn this stop letting issues fester. [email protected].

Honesty time. Years ago I had a sharp disagreement with a respected colleague. I made my case hard, in front of others, and I won.
The cost showed up later. He never brought ideas to me as openly again. I won a point and lost a partner.
How you disagree is remembered long after what you disagreed about is forgotten.
Ever won a disagreement and regretted how?

Last week, I spent a full day with a mixed cohort at manufacturing company in Pune, with professionals ranging from 2 years to 4-5 years of experience and witnessed something powerful.

When you bring early-career and mid-career talent into the same room, magic happens. The juniors gain perspective. The seniors gain humility. Both grow.

Over 6 integrated modules — from Emotional Intelligence and Ownership Mindset to Communication That Commands Respect and Difficult Conversations — we didn't just discuss theory. We worked through company specific scenarios, real hierarchy dynamics, and the unwritten rules that shape careers long before anyone talks about promotions.

Three moments stood out:

1. A 2-year professional used the PREP framework to reframe a recommendation to senior leadership — and finally felt heard in a room where they'd been silent.

2. A 4-year professional recognized how their "experience" had quietly turned into impatience with newer perspectives — and committed to changing it.

3. The entire cohort left with one difficult conversation they were avoiding — and a 2-week deadline to initiate it.

This is what happens when training stops being a checklist and starts being a mirror.

If your organization is building early and mid-career talent — and you want them to develop professional identity, ownership, and communication confidence before they hit a growth plateau — let's talk.

I design these programs around your culture, your hierarchy, and your real challenges. Not generic slides.

DM me or comment "PROGRAMME" below and I'll share how we can build this for your team.

A line that defuses tense conversations. Start with observable facts, not your judgement.
You clearly do not care about deadlines is a verdict that invites defence. The last two reports came a day late is a fact that invites a conversation.
Before a hard talk, separate what I saw from the story I am telling about it. Lead with the fact.

An honest mirror. When a real disagreement hits at work, what is your gut default?
Push to win
Go quiet to keep peace
Rush to compromise
Dig into what both sides need
None is wrong everywhere. The trap is using one mode for everything. Vote honestly. Knowing your default is the first step to choosing better.

A costly belief. People think the goal of a disagreement is to win.
The catch. You can win the argument and lose the relationship, the cooperation and the next three projects.
Resolving is different from winning. It is finding a way forward both sides can act on.
The reframe: you and me against the problem, not you against me. Do I want to be right, or do I want this to work?
