You don't need to win against your emotions.

Men's mental health was never meant to be a June conversation.
It should be a year-round conversation.

A conversation where men don't have to earn the right to be vulnerable.
Where listening matters more than fixing.

Repeated personal criticism can gradually shape a child's inner voice, teaching them not just what they did wrong, but who they believe they are and that belief often influences self-esteem, emotional regulation, and relationships into adulthood

Children initially understand themselves through the eyes of caregivers. When criticism focuses on the child's character, rather than their behaviour or mistakes, children may begin to internalise these messages as truths about who they are.
Research on self-esteem development suggests that parental evaluations have a strong influence on children's self-worth, particularly during early and middle childhood. Over time, the parent's critical voice can become the child's inner voice.
When mistakes are met with excessive criticism, shame, or anger, children often learn that negative emotions are unsafe or unacceptable.

As a result, the child may grow into an adult who is highly self-critical, perfectionistic, or constantly questioning their worth.

A person with autism is not “less than” - they may simply experience, express, and understand the world from a different lens.
The issue is often not autism itself, but a world that expects everyone to think, communicate, and behave the same way.

This month, let’s normalise conversations around emotions, healing, therapy, boundaries, rest, and asking for help.
