For the last few months, I’ve been learning that sometimes, you have to choose what you need — not what you think you should be doing.
I always told myself I’d be that mother.
The one who does it all.
Have a baby. Be present. Build her business. Show up online. Create content. Keep growing.
And initially, I did.
I was doing stories, posts, showing up — because I had decided that by five months postpartum, I would be “back.”
But then I paused and asked myself:
“Do I actually want to do this right now, or am I just doing it because I said I would?”
And I realised I didn’t want to show up just for the sake of showing up.
I wanted my energy back.
I wanted to feel good in my body.
I wanted to enjoy my days.
I wanted to be present with my baby.
I wanted to feel like me again.
So I stepped back.
Not from my dreams.
Into myself.
For the last couple of months, I’ve been putting more into my own cup — rebuilding my energy, finding my rhythm, and giving myself the space to become fuller again.
Because when I eventually pour into my audience and the people I work with, I don’t want to give from depletion.
I want to give from overflow.
And that’s the reminder:
Taking a break doesn’t mean you’re breaking.
Sometimes, you’re simply rebuilding yourself — better, deeper, fuller — so you can come back and give from a much more beautiful place. 🤍
