IISM students got a glimpse into that world during an insightful session with Ishaan Bhataiya, a Motorsports & Action Sports Photographer, also associated with Mumbai Falcons.

From the importance of theory in building strong foundations to the realities of working around motorsport, Ishaan gave students plenty to think about, and plenty to ask.💡

The conversation continued beyond the session, with students getting to interact with him and learn more about his experience. 🤝

Because the best learning doesn’t always happen inside a classroom. Sometimes, it happens when you get to speak to someone who’s already living it.

"It's become quite cliche, but you gotta have the 'Belief' to succeed in anything in you do!", highlighted Mr. Parthiv Patel, former Indian cricketer as Chief Guest at IISM's Orientation for the Class of 2026! 🏏

Drawing on his years of on-field experience as a player, talent scout & coach, he inspired our incoming batches with plenty of gritty anecdotes.

There was so much for our new students to learn from his life story: rising from his humble family background to thriving in Team India's competitive squad in the 2000s. 🇮🇳

Be it his Ranji Trophy-winning campaigns with Gujarat or the must-win game in the 2013 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he led the way to a 110-run victory - it was a fabulous blast from the past. 💥

The way he galvanised the Gujarat team under his leadership, Mr. Patel feels our Class of 2026 has an open field of opportunities in front of them. They just gotta uplift their mindset & believe in their ability to scale the summit of success in the sporting world!

"The heart of everything we do has to be love. If what you do is with love, then no matter how big or small you were before, you will only get bigger."

That was the message Mr. Rahul Bose, President of Rugby India, left the IISM Class of 2026 with as the Chief Guest at our Orientation.

While the world knows him for his work on screen, it was his journey in sport that took centre stage.

Drawing from his experiences on and off the field, he shared four values every aspiring sports professional should live by:

Truth, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics.

One line from his speech is sure to stay with everyone:
"Do you want to spend your whole life bumping the carpet or sleep peacefully?"
To decode it, you had to be there. 🎟️🙌

His message to our students was simple: "Whether you build your career in sports management or sports science, strive to make a difference in someone's life."

And perhaps the biggest takeaway of all:
"Do what you love or find love in what you do." ❤️

From pioneering the Rugby Premier League to championing rugby's growth in India, 🏉 🇮🇳
Mr. Bose's journey was an inspiring reminder of the impact sport can create and the kind of legacy our newest batch can aspire to build. 🌟
