🧠 AFTER A STROKE, THE BODY DOESN’T JUST NEED STRENGTH.
THE BRAIN NEEDS TO RELEARN MOVEMENT.
A stroke can change the way you move, balance, coordinate, breathe, stand, walk—and trust your body.
Rehabilitation often focuses on rebuilding strength and function.
But there is another important part of recovery:
✨ Helping the brain reconnect with the body.
Clinical Somatics uses slow, gentle and mindful movement to support sensory awareness and help the nervous system explore more comfortable, efficient movement patterns.
🌿 HOW CLINICAL SOMATICS SUPPORTS IN STROKE RECOVERY:
✨ Improve body awareness
✨ Support coordination and movement control
✨ Reduce unnecessary muscular tension and stiffness
✨ Encourage easier, more fluid movement
✨ Support posture and balance
✨ Build greater confidence in everyday movement
The goal is not to force the body to move harder.
It is to help the nervous system rediscover how to move better.
Every stroke is different.
Every recovery journey is different.
Progress may be gradual—but the brain has an extraordinary capacity to adapt, learn and reorganise through neuroplasticity.
Clinical Somatics may be used as a gentle complement to your prescribed stroke rehabilitation programme, where appropriate.

CANCER PATIENTS DON’T ALWAYS NEED TO HEAR “BE STRONG.”
SOMETIMES, THEY NEED TO FEEL SAFE IN THEIR BODY.
Cancer treatment can place an enormous physical and emotional demand on the body.
There may be anxiety before scans, fear before surgery or treatment, disturbed sleep, fatigue, muscular tension, changes in movement, and the constant uncertainty of what comes next.
For many years, I have had the privilege of supporting people undergoing cancer treatment through Clinical Somatics, alongside their medical care.
What I have observed is powerful.
Through gentle, slow and mindful Somatic Movement, we create an opportunity for the person to reconnect with their body without forcing, pushing or demanding more from it.
Clinical Somatics may help support:
• Nervous system regulation and a greater sense of calm
• Reduction of unnecessary muscular tension
• Gentle, comfortable movement within the person’s capacity
• Improved body awareness and breathing
• Relaxation and rest
• Greater confidence in moving the body
• Emotional regulation during an extremely demanding period
One of the most meaningful changes I have witnessed is how some clients become less overwhelmed by anxiety and better able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of their cancer journey after incorporating Somatic sessions into their supportive care.
They don’t need to be told to fight harder.
Sometimes what they need is permission to slow down, breathe, sense their body and experience a little more safety and ease.
Clinical Somatics does not replace cancer treatment or medical rehabilitation. It can be a gentle, complementary approach, adapted to the individual’s condition and undertaken with appropriate medical guidance.

Trauma teaches the body to survive.
Somatics teaches it to feel safe again. 🤍
Our bodies are incredibly intelligent.
When we experience stress or trauma, the nervous system adapts to protect us. Over time, those protective patterns can become chronic tension, pain, shallow breathing, fatigue, anxiety, or a constant feeling of being “on guard.”
Clinical Somatics offers a gentle, neuroscience-based approach to help retrain the brain and nervous system.
Through slow, mindful movements, you can:
✨ Release habitual muscular tension
✨ Regulate your nervous system
✨ Improve movement and posture
✨ Reduce pain and stiffness
✨ Feel calmer, more present, and at ease
Healing isn’t about forcing the body to relax.
It’s about helping it remember that it is safe.
💚 If you’re ready to move beyond survival and reconnect with your body, we’re here to guide you.

Calf Pain? Your Body May Be Asking for a Reset.
Calf pain isn’t always caused by a muscle injury. Sometimes, the real issue is chronic muscle holding patterns driven by the nervous system.
Clinical Somatics uses slow, gentle movements to help your brain release unnecessary muscular tension, allowing your body to move with greater ease and comfort.
✨ Clinical Somatics may help you:
• Reduce chronic muscle tension
• Improve body awareness
• Restore smoother, more natural movement
• Support better balance and mobility
Whether your calf pain comes from long hours of standing, running, exercise, or an old injury, learning to move differently can make a meaningful difference.
💚 Your body doesn’t always need to be stretched harder—it may simply need to be retrained.

REST HELPS.
BUT RETRAINING LASTS.
When pain becomes chronic, rest alone often isn’t enough to create lasting relief.
Clinical Somatics takes a different approach.
Instead of simply waiting for the pain to fade, you gently retrain your brain and nervous system to release long-held muscular tension.
Using slow, mindful movements called pandiculations, you help your body:
✨ Release habitual muscle tightness
✨ Restore natural movement
✨ Improve comfort and mobility
✨ Move with greater ease and confidence
Rest is passive.
Clinical Somatics is active, empowering, and designed to help you regain control of how your body feels.
Pain doesn’t always mean something is damaged. Sometimes, it’s your nervous system asking for a reset.
