TTFSL celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with its annual Team League. 28 Teams participating in the Team League (Team of 3) making this Team League the biggest participation ever in 6 years. The unique differentiation of this Team League is that each team compulsory composed of 2 Veterans with 1 Youth Player to make teams balanced. Majority of the teams playing were created not knowing each other, players meeting for the first time each other promoted friendship, unity and camadarie on the TT Table. A lot of new players played the event for the first time experiencing a Team League. The rain gods blessed the event, as all TT players & referees sang the National Anthem proudly displaying the National flag. Every player was given a Chocolate/Mango milkshake bottle courtesy our Hydration Partner STORIA.

Group Stage

Group F had a tough competition for the second place, as Team 28 (Rajesh/Manish/Saptarshi) suffered a shock upset by Team 14 (Anand/Rhys/Suresh). Team 19 (Anshuman/Ragvan/Dhiraj) however went through beating Team 14 on H2H decider factor.

No major upsets were seen in any of the Group Stage matches

Knockouts

A major upset took place in Group B, where Team 26 consisting of Kirti, Sandeep & Kapil K, all 3 stellar TT players, lost to a less fancied team of Hardik, Trupti & Anil. With the decider singles coming down to Hardik Vs Kapil, Hardik shocked multiple time Veteran Champion Kapil 2-1.

In almost another upset, Team 24 gave a tough fight to Team 21, with Subhayu taking out Veteran Kishor P in the Singles 3-1, however the Doubles pair of Shane/Kunwar dominated the pair of Ranadip/Harshil 3-0 to force the decider singles between Kunwar and Ranadip, the former using heavy rotation got past Ranadip 3-1.

SEMI FINAL

Both SF were one sided with Team 11 (Aniruddha/Narendra/Vaibhav) dominating the team of Team 21 (Kishor/Shane/Kunwar) and Team 16 dominating Team 23, with Ankur losing to Lokesh 0-3,

FINAL

Team 11 (Aniruddha/Narendra/Vaibhav) Vs Team 16 (Suhas/Andrew/Lokesh)

The Singles leg Aniruddha dominated Veteran Lokesh 3-0 to go up 1-0 for his team, the Doubles leg was super interesting with pair of Narendra/Vaibhav leading Suhas/Andrew 2-1 but then lost their way to lose 2-3 with Andrew doing the major hitting and Suhas using perfect blocking and control, to square the tie at 1-1. It came down to the Veterans squaring off with Vaibhav losing Game 1 to Suhas, but changed his strategy by blocking Suhas topspins and then powering smashes to lead 2-1. However Suhas put heavy rotation and slowed the game down causing a disruption in Vaibhavs blocking to take Game 4 and 5 to win for his team.

A new place to learn TT at Fatima High School, Vidyavihar and open to All.

In a bid to push especially at the grassroot school level, TTFSL has opened an affordable TT Academy on the 3rd floor of the school on Sunday 9th August 2026. TTFSL has entrusted the ever trustworthy Arjun Patra of fame as the coach for the Academy.

Children of the school now have the opportunity to learn at the school itself and TTFSL today gave some it's students a free trial class as well.

Batches are on Thursday and Sundays only, morning & evening at a affordable Rs. 3500/- for 12 sessions of 1 hour duration each. The facility is equipped with robot, balls, rackets, agility ladders as well.

We thank the Fathers & Capuchins of Fatima High School, Vidyavihar for believing in the sport of Table Tennis and giving us a chance to introduce TT at the grassroot level. We thank TTFSL Member Clyde Pereira and his wife Nidhi who helped us make this happen. N last but not least our coaching partner n our close TT ally Arjun Patra of who has always supported TTFSL.

12 Teams 96 Players......

TTFSL conducted its monthly 58 (1 absent) QL 33 player and SL 24 player tournament at the newly reopened Ace TT Club, Thane W on Sunday 12th July 2026. With a lot of new faces, it was an interesting setting with a lot of new faces in QL. Entries were less due to two districts having their ranking tournaments at the same time.

QUALIFIER LEAGUE

Superb show by youngsters Shubhaam D & Ayush C, both boys made it to the QF and SF respectively but lost to eventual winner Vishak N who was using lot of rotation on the FH topspin. Om Rai a player that the TTFSL Chief Shane Sequeira had himself taught in 2016, met his mentor for the first time 10 years later and showed no signs of rust reaching the SF and eventually losing 2-3 to Pranav N in a close encounter in the SF. Pranav N, a new player in TTFSL, played a perfect blocking and counter game to blunt all his opponents, but in the final, found Vishak rotational forehand topspin difficult to handle losing 1-3. Congratulations to both Winner and Runner up.

SUPER LEAGUE

All matches were best of 5 in the group stage. Group stage saw a big upset with Jeet M keeping the ball in play with LP consistently on the table and toppling TTFSL Chief Shane S 3-2 in a close encounter. New SL player Pratyush K blunting Harshil B 3-2 using twiddling and deceptive long pips in the QF fighting from 2 games down. Best match of course was the final between Aniruddha and Dhruv W with an absolute cat and mouse game, Aniruddha starting well aggressively taking Game 1 only to find Dhruv W using consistent perfect 3rd ball attack to take the next 2. The MCF boy not to be beaten stepped up with rotation and spin and using the famous Lebrun windshield wiper serve to force Dhruv W into errors. Aniruddha closed the gap in the final decider game using high spin looping both on FH and BH forcing Dhruv to block and punch out. Congratulations to both Winner and Runner up.

Today 9th July 2026, Day 1 of the TTFSL Sponsored Women's TT Coaching Camp began at JPOTTA Andheri East, where Mumbai taught basic TT for just 500/- for 12 sessions of 1 hour each.

The camp started in the right earnest with Women being taught how to hold the racket and how to keep the blade angled while using hips in a counter stroke. Other women were taught ball balancing and ball tapping for the first time.

The camp for July 2026 hopes to create more Women in the game of Table Tennis.
