Indian Junior Handball Team Coaching Camp for the 19th Asian Men’s Handball Championship Successfully Concluded

The Indian Junior Handball Team Coaching Camp for the 19th Asian Men’s Handball Championship was successfully conducted by the Jharkhand Handball Association, under the aegis of the Handball Association India, with the immense support and outstanding hospitality of Tata Steel. The world-class facilities and seamless arrangements provided by Tata Steel played a vital role in preparing the team for the championship.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mrs. Sudha Gupta, Hon’ble Mayor of Jamshedpur; Mr. Hidayatullah Khan, Chairman, Jharkhand State Minority Commission; Captain Amitabh, CEO, Naval Tata Hockey Academy & Head – Skill Development, Tata Steel; Mr. Mukul Choudhary, Head – Sports, Tata Steel; and Mr. Pawan Kumar, Central Member, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. The distinguished guests appreciated the efforts of the players, coaches, and organizers and conveyed their best wishes to Team India.

The Indian Junior Handball Team is now fully prepared to represent the nation at the 19th Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship, scheduled to be held from 15th to 27th July 2026 in Zhuzhou, China.

The Handball Association India extends its heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to the Jharkhand Handball Association for successfully organizing the national coaching camp. Special congratulations to Mr. Banna Gupta, President, Jharkhand Handball Association and Former Minister, Government of Jharkhand; Mr. Imran Masood Khan, Executive Member, Handball Association India & Secretary General, Jharkhand Handball Association; and the entire team of the Jharkhand Handball Association for their outstanding efforts. Special recognition is also due to Dr. Hasan Imam Mallick, Senior Vice President, Jharkhand Handball Association and Manager – Sports, Tata Steel, for his invaluable contribution in making the coaching camp a grand success.

Our Indian U-20 Women's Team may not have achieved the desired results at the World Championship in China, but their fighting spirit and outstanding performances made the nation proud.

Shivani Devi (16 years old) finished 4th in the Top Scorers' list with 53 goals.
Sujata secured 12th place with 43 goals.
Lavisha Gahlawat earned an impressive 6th place in the Best Goalkeeper Saves rankings.
