Assalamu Alaikum to everyone, especially all cricket supporters and lovers.

The main motto of the Bijbehara Premier League is to promote local cricket and provide opportunities to young and emerging talent. The Bijbehara Cricket Association has the support and guidance of our international star Parvez Rasool, who has represented India and JKCA and has served as captain for around 10 years. He has played numerous Ranji Trophy matches and has achieved remarkable records in his career.

The Bijbehara Cricket Association has created a platform like a mini-IPL, where many teams participate. One of the most important features of this tournament is the opportunity given to young players. Teams are required to include two Under-19 and two Under-23 players, so that emerging stars can get exposure and experience. Tomorrow, some of these players may represent JKCA, play Ranji Trophy or Duleep Trophy, or even reach the IPL.

Regarding Royal Goodwill, I have been seeing news since yesterday that they will not participate in the Bijbehara Premier League because of their existing commitments. Honestly, this should not become a major issue or headline. If one team does not participate, another team will take its place. The tournament and its rules will continue as decided by the Bijbehara Cricket Association.

We should focus on the future of local cricket, rather than creating unnecessary hype around one team not participating. Players above 40 years of age have already contributed to local cricket and may be playing for enjoyment or other reasons, but this particular tournament is designed to give opportunities to the younger generation.

The people of Kashmir have given recognition and love to many local cricketers, but the real stars of tomorrow are the young players who need a platform today.

Bijbehara Cricket Association is doing a great job by promoting Under-19 and Under-23 talent. The real question should be: How much talent does our local cricket have, and who will represent JKCA and Kashmir at the next level?

So, whether Royal Goodwill participates or not, the Bijbehara Premier League must continue its mission of promoting young and emerging cricketers.
