A Historic Milestone for Kickboxing in West Bengal

Today marks a historic and memorable day in the history of kickboxing in West Bengal. After years of dedicated efforts, discussions, and mutual understanding, Kickboxing Association of West Bengal and West Bengal Sports Kickboxing Association have officially amalgamated into a single unified organization during a joint meeting held under the supervision of the Bengal Olympic Association.

With this historic unification, the newly unified body will now function with the recognition and support of both the Bengal Olympic Association and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, through its nationally recognized kickboxing structure. This landmark decision opens a new chapter for the development of kickboxing in the state.

The meeting was attended by an observer from the Bengal Olympic Association.

Representing the Kickboxing Association of West Bengal were:

- Mrs. Moli Das, Acting President
- Mr. Subhajit Das, Joint Secretary
(Wife and son of the Late Montu Das)

Representing the West Bengal Sports Kickboxing Association were:

- Mr. Biswanath Roy, General Secretary
- Mr. Partha Mitra, Secretary, Kolkata District Kickboxing Association

Also present were Mr. Kartik Haldar and Mr. Gaurav Goswami.

This long-awaited unification is a significant step forward for the sport. It will ensure that kickboxers across West Bengal receive greater opportunities, stronger organizational support, and improved access to benefits and recognition available through government and officially recognized sports bodies.

This historic achievement reflects the spirit of unity and a shared commitment to the growth of kickboxing. It is expected to strengthen the sport at every level and create greater opportunities for athletes to excel at the state, national, and international levels.
