OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - JKAWF INDIA 12TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT 2027 / ANNUAL WINTER CAMP 2027

With immense pride and honour, JKAWF INDIA announces that our beloved & most respected Katsutoshi Shiina Shihan, 8th Dan, JKA HQ Full-Time Instructor in Tokyo, Technical Director & Executive Director of the JKA, will grace Kolkata once again.

Dates: 9th - 13th January 2027
Venue: The Circle Club, Kolkata, WB, India

Shihan will impart high-level technical guidance to the selected members of JKAWF INDIA and will conduct the official JKA Dan & Licence Examinations (Black Belt and Qualification Examinations) under the authority of JKA Headquarters.

This is a rare opportunity to train directly under a true legend of JKA Shotokan and to deepen our lifelong study of Karate-Do.

All eligible members are requested to start preparing with diligence and sincerity.

A BRIEF NOTE ON KATSUTOSHI SHIINA SHIHAN

Katsutoshi Shiina Shihan – 8th Dan, JKA HQ Instructor

Born on 21st November 1961 in Tokyo, Japan, Shiina Shihan started Karate in the 5th year of elementary school and later graduated from Takushoku University – the birthplace of many JKA masters. He is a 1986 graduate of the legendary JKA Kenshusei (Instructor Training) Program.

He is currently a Full-Time HQ Instructor, Technical Director & Executive Director of JKA, Member of the Board of Directors and Committee Member of the Shihankai & Kanjikai of JKA HQ, Tokyo.

Shiina Shihan is one of the most decorated competitors in JKA history, known for his explosive kumite and razor-sharp kata.

Major Achievements:
- 9th Shoto World Cup, Tokyo 2004 – 1st Place KATA – World Champion
- JKA All Japan Championships – 1st Place KATA – 2001 & 2004
- JKA All Japan Championships – 1st Place KUMITE – 1991, 1993, 1994
- Multiple Medalist in both Kata and Kumite at All Japan & World level.

His motto: “Though my body seems not my soul is ready” – which reflects his unbreakable spirit and lifelong dedication.

He is deeply respected worldwide for his powerful technique, dynamic teaching method and his passionate guidance to the next generation.

We are proud to announce the outstanding performance of our JKA Traditional Shotokan Karate Club (JKA TSKC) team at the 2nd All India JKA Karate Championships 2026, held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar from 5th–7th June 2026.

The championship was organized by JKAWF INDIA, hosted by JKAWF INDIA Odisha, and approved by the Japan Karate Association (JKA), Tokyo, Japan.
