🚨Sony Sports Network and YouTube are set to become the media partners for the Indian Super League (ISL) for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 seasons. Sony Sports Network will broadcast the league on television across the Indian subcontinent, while YouTube will stream every match for free in India and worldwide. In India, the games will also be available digitally on SonyLIV. The deal comes after talks with Zee Sports stalled over valuation and other uncertainties, with Sony stepping in after previously broadcasting the shortened ISL season through a FanCode sub-license.

The new arrangement was shaped by the ISL clubs, with some pushing for YouTube’s wider reach and audience data, while others wanted traditional television to maintain sponsorship value. The final paperwork is still being completed and is expected to include revenue sharing. Production will be handled by Kaleidoscope Productions & Services (KPS), with the clubs covering the costs.

One of the biggest changes will be the clubs getting full access to broadcast and streaming data, including overall and state-wise audience figures. The move comes as the ISL enters its club-led era, with the 2026–27 season scheduled to begin on October 10 in the traditional home-and-away format, featuring 13 teams and around 163 matches including the playoffs. MG Motor has also been confirmed as the league’s title sponsor.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, a member of Sharjah’s ruling Al Qasimi family, has completed the full 100% acquisition of popular Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC through his company Al Fursan Sports Investment in a deal valued at approximately ₹100-120 crore, with payments structured over an eight-month period. The transaction ends nearly a decade of ownership by Hyderabad-based Magnum Sports (led by Nikhil B. Nimmagadda and including shareholders such as Telugu star Chiranjeevi), who had been seeking a sale for years amid heavy financial losses. These losses were exacerbated by the collapse of ISL broadcast and commercial revenues after the end of the AIFF-FSDL arrangement, including reported ₹30 crore losses in the prior season, and earlier failed talks with other suitors such as IBS Group and VPS Health. The club, founded in 2014 and based in Kochi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with its passionate “Manjappada” fanbase, will remain there under the new Gulf ownership, which is expected to inject fresh investment for squad strengthening ahead of the 2026-27 ISL season.

🚨BREAKING: Al Fursan Sports Investment, a UAE-based firm linked to the network of Sheikh Ahmed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, is set to acquire the Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC.

The Middle Eastern group will take full ownership from Hyderabad-based Magnum Sports, led by chairman Nikhil B. Nimmagadda, who has owned the franchise since 2016.

Despite the major ownership transition, the club will remain firmly rooted in Kochi and continue playing its home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. The squad's core is also expected to stay stable, with marquee player and captain Adrian Luna remaining at the helm of the team under the new management.
