Today, on January 14, 2026, a magnificent Nagar Kirtan was taken out in Model Town, Gangyal, Jammu, in loving memory and celebration of Sahib-e-Kamaal Dashmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, the tenth Patshah, the embodiment of courage, equality, and divine light.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
(Those who serve with devotion, receive honor from the Lord.)
The entire Sangat gathered with immense devotion, embodying the spirit of manavta (humanity) and bhaichara (brotherhood), as taught by our Gurus:
ਮਾਨਸ ਕੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਸਬੈ ਏਕੈ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਬੋ ॥
(Recognize the entire humanity as one single race/caste.)
People from every age group—young children, youth, elders, men, and women—participated wholeheartedly, walking together in unity and singing the praises of Waheguru. Children (ਬੱਚੇ) especially added sweetness to the occasion with their innocent devotion, showing how Guru Ji’s message reaches every heart.
The sangat paid humble obeisance at the holy charan (feet) of Dashmesh Pita, seeking His eternal blessings:
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ ॥
And with folded hands, received the divine grace and ashirwad of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Special recognition goes to Harbhajan Singh and Sons, who selflessly offered Maida for the seva, contributing to Guru ka Langar and community service. Their act reminds us of the true essence of Sewa:
ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
May this Nagar Kirtan inspire us all to live by the ideals of equality, selfless service, and brotherhood.
