Hockey Exhibition Tournament on National Sports Day Organised by District Hockey Pulwama

Pulwama, August 29: District Hockey Pulwama, under the aegis of Hockey J&K, organized a hockey exhibition tournament at Mehjoor Hockey Stadium, Pulwama, on the occasion of National Sports Day.

Four teams participated in the short tournament, showcasing enthusiasm, talent and competitive spirit among the young hockey players of the district.

The final match was played between Victor Sports Club Pulwama and Mehjoor Hockey Club Ratnipora. Victor Sports Club Pulwama put up an impressive performance, scoring six goals to emerge victorious and lift the tournament title.

Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, MLA Pulwama, was the Chief Guest at the final function, while Bilal Ahmad Rather, former Chairman Municipal Committee Pulwama, attended as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the players, Waheed-ur-Rehman Para appreciated District Hockey Pulwama for promoting hockey and providing a platform for local youth. He assured the players of his support and announced that necessary sports equipment would be provided to encourage their participation and development.

He also encouraged the youth to actively participate in sports and emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline, fitness, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.

The organizers appreciated all participating teams, players, coaches and officials for making the event a success and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting hockey at the grassroots level in Pulwama.

National Sports Day was celebrated at Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla to promote sports, fitness and healthy lifestyles among youth.

S. Preetam Singh ji was the Chief Guest along with Ravi Raj Singh ( Treasurer Hockey J&k ), Ranbir Singh ( Residence Secretary Hockey J&K) , Satinderjeet Singh (Ex Manager Sports Council Baramulla), Harvinder Singh (District Agriculture Officer Baramulla ), Manjeet Singh (Vice President Hockey J&K), Binod Singh (Executive Member Hockey J&K ) , Indpal Singh (Inspector J&K Police) and Kawalnain Singh ( Manager Uplina Sports Club ).

The dignitaries interacted with players and encouraged them to embrace sports and fitness, highlighting their role in building discipline, confidence and teamwork.
