BHSS REASI DOMINATES IN INTER SCHOOL ZONE LEVEL U17.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Department of Youth Services and Sports Reasi organised Inter-School Zone Level Competitions at General Zorawar Singh Stadium.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools across the zone, showcasing their talent, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit in different sporting disciplines. The event was conducted under the supervision of the officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports Reasi with the aim of promoting physical fitness, discipline, and team spirit among the youth.
The participating students displayed remarkable energy and dedication throughout the competitions. The
Tarsem Singh DYSSO Reasi, appreciated the sincere efforts of the field staff and stated that such competitions play a vital role in identifying and nurturing young sporting talent at the grassroots level. He further encouraged students to actively participate in sports activities and uphold the spirit of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmenship.

Udhampur, May 4,2026: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Jib ,launched a thrilling inter-school zonal-level tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys.
The Tournament was kicked off with high-energy competitions in Kabaddi, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Wrestling, and Yoga, all under the expert supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Jib, Smt. Jyoti Rani Gupta. Sh. Suraj Bhan Singh, Manager Sports Council Udhampur, graced the event as Chief Guest.
Zonal Physical Education Officer Jib, alongside the Chief Guest, officially declared the tournament open amid roaring cheers, showering best wishes on the young athletes for outstanding performances and true sportsmanship.
Technical experts, led by Ajit Singh Bandral and Sanjay Sharma (PEMs, ZPEO Office Zone Jib), managed the intense selection process with precision, ensuring fair play while spotlighting rising stars with dazzling cricketing skills, masterful chess strategies, and raw athletic talent.
A total of 495 students from various government and private schools took part in the competition.

Pawandeep achieves World Athletics Race Walking Judge Bronze Level certification
JAMMU, Feb 16: In a remarkable milestone for Jammu and Kashmir’s sports ecosystem, Pawandeep, a highly skilled Physical Education Teacher (PET) with the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K—currently deputed as Senior Athletics Coach to the J&K Sports Council—has qualified as a World Athletics Race Walking Judge at the prestigious Bronze Level.
This certification, awarded following a rigorous evaluation conducted by World Athletics, underscores her exceptional expertise in the technical nuances of race walking, a discipline demanding precision, endurance, and unwavering adherence to international standards.
As per the reports over 70 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 11 have successfully qualified the same
A National Institute of Sports (NIS) diploma holder in athletics, Pawandeep’s achievement now positions her to officiate at elite global events, including World Championships, Asian Championships, and other prestigious international competitions. Her journey reflects not just personal excellence but a profound commitment to elevating athletics in the Union Territory.
Pawandeep has earned widespread acclaim for her pivotal role in nurturing national-level talent from Jammu and Kashmir. Under her guidance, several promising athletes from the region have risen to compete at the highest levels, producing a legacy of “national stuff” that inspires the next generation.
Director General of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Ms. Anuradha Gupta, felicitated Pawandeep today in the presence of Joint Director (Jammu), Ms. Vinakshi Koul. Describing her as an invaluable asset to the department, Ms. Gupta stated, “Such dedicated officials are a great boost for any organization. Senior Handball player from Jammu and Kashmir, Jasbir Singh (Jassi) has been selected to participate in the Handball Pro League (HPL) 2026.
South Asia's biggest and India's first-ever professional Handball League for both men and women shall take place at Mankapur Indoor Stadium in Nagpur from February 10 to February 15.
Presently serving with Indian Army, Jasbir shall represent Mumbai Mercenaries Team as main goalkeeper.
Jasbir has been selected considering his performance in the last National tournament.
Meanwhile, International Handball player and India captain, Neeraj Singh complimented Jasbir Singh on his selected in the professional league.

Congratulations to Ankush Sharma Working with Youth Service & Sports Reasi and a cricketer from Reasi, has been selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir for the third time in Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket. He will participate in the 36th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship.
