Most of us move through life in noise - braced, hunched, pulled away from our centre.
Iyengar Yoga begins with a quieter idea: alignment is not force. It is discovering the line that gravity has already drawn through you.
Stand like the mountain.
Rooted enough to soften.
Aligned enough to be free.
โ Sthira - where alignment meets altitude.
Join us in Uttarkashi, 12โ19 November, for a week of practice, stillness, and Himalayan space.

Alignment isn't perfection โ it's presence, measured in inches. In Iyengar yoga, the belt, the block, and the wall don't make it easier; they make it honest. Root before you reach. Stay in the pose the moment you want to leave it. That quiet, precise attention is where the practice begins. ๐ฟ

You will go back to the same job.
The same city, the same inbox, the same people who were difficult before you left and will not have used the week to reflect on it. The traffic will not have improved.
What changes is smaller than the brochures suggest, and more useful. Something happens - the delay, the message, the person - and there is now a gap between the thing and your reaction to it. Half a second, maybe. Long enough to choose.
That is what eight days on a cold river buys you. We'd rather say so plainly than promise you a different life.

12โ19 November. Twenty places. Eight days of practice on the banks of the Ganga, in Uttarkashi.
The photo is the last group, 30 June - twelve strangers on Monday, and by Friday nobody was in a hurry to leave. The next one is in November, when the mornings are cold and the peaks come out clean.
Bookings close 31 October.

For years I've sat in Shri Prashant Iyengar ji's pranayama classes. What stays isn't a technique - it's a way of being present. He teaches breath not as something to control, but as something to understand, and always toward one quiet end: that each student becomes their own teacher. Not a celebration just gratitude.

A Himalayan yoga retreat, mid-week, in Uttarkashi - here's what the mornings actually look like. ๐ค
You don't wake to an alarm here. You wake to the Bhagirathi running cold and grey-green past the ashram wall, before the town has stirred.
Then the day folds into a simple shape: Iyengar practice twice over, a riverside havan, a walk to the suspension bridge, nothing much to do between sessions but be here. That last part is the whole point.
This week's group is already on the river. We run these in small numbers, a few times a year - so if a slow week in the mountains is something you've been circling, the next one is worth claiming early.
Save this for the version of you who needs a reset. Or DM "RETREAT" and we'll add you to the list for the next dates.

โฆ Some evenings stay with you.
We came together in New Delhi to mark the 78th Anniversary of the State of Israel - a celebration of history, of culture, and of the quiet, enduring friendship between India and Israel.
There were warm conversations and easy laughter, familiar faces and a few new ones, and that rare kind of evening where everyone feels at home no matter where they've come from. People from different worlds, gathered in one room, sharing the same joy - that, more than anything, is what made the night.
Grateful for the celebration, for the company, and for friendships that cross borders and somehow feel like family.
Here's to many more such evenings. ๐ฅ
