was honoured to host Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, VSM, Commandant, Military College of Telecommunications Engineering, Mhow. He met the Director, Deans, senior faculty, and Prof Kiran Kuchi to discuss strengthening collaboration in advanced communication technologies. He witnessed demonstrations of the IITH 5G testbed at campus and its live deployment at Chimnapur village, where IITH's 5G network serves schools, anganwadis, and local residents through a 5G FWA test network — showcasing its potential for defence applications and rural connectivity.

TB Free India – 100 Day Campaign 2026 |
The Closing Ceremony of the TB Free India – 100 Day Campaign 2026 was successfully held at IIT Hyderabad on 27th July 2026, featuring a TB awareness session and prize distribution for the winners of the student poster-making and speech competitions.
The campaign was organised by the Institute’s Designated TB Nodal Officer, Dr. Baishakhi Chandra, along with the IITH Hospital Team.
Dr. Baishakhi Chandra delivered an awareness talk on TB symptoms, early diagnosis, treatment, stigma reduction, and Government initiatives for TB elimination. Dr. Sai Prashant Goud highlighted the Ni-kshay Mitra Initiative, encouraging community participation to support TB patients.
The Honourable Registrar, Shri V. Venkat Rao, and Hospital Faculty In-charge, Prof. Viswanath R. R. S. R. Chinthapenta, shared their valuable messages to the community, congratulated the Student winners, appreciated the Hospital Team’s efforts, and reaffirmed IIT Hyderabad’s commitment to the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and the national goal of a TB-Free India.

First Weekend of the Applied AI Professional Certification Program successfully concluded! 🚀
The Department of CSE, IIT Hyderabad welcomed nearly 50 professionals from diverse industries for the first on-campus sessions of the Applied AI Professional Certification Program held on 1st & 2nd August 2026.
Led by Dr. Praveen Tammana and N. V. S. S. Koundinya, the sessions combined expert insights with hands-on learning, collaborative discussions, and practical AI applications, creating an engaging and enriching learning experience.
We're excited to continue this journey with the cohort during the upcoming sessions on 8th & 9th August, as participants delve deeper into advanced AI and Generative AI technologies.
