Last month , I was fortunate to witness his production… “pratikalpayan” the story of Ujjain nagari starting in the times of samudra manthan and going upto the present times
It was a mesmerising evening. gangani ji was in his element. The honourable vice president of India was the guest of honour who felicitated our Rajendra Gangani ji. So proud to belong to his troupe of students 🙏
It was an honour to choreograph this piece for the girls of grade 7 at Uttam school for girls on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

An enchanting evening of Indian classical dance, beautifully curated by Ranjana Gauhar ji, bringing together an amazing array of artists.
Odissi by Prateesha Mohapatra, the talented granddaughter of the legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, with her colleague, presented a beautiful Vishnu Stuti — Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam and Ardhanarishwar.
Bharatanatyam by Ananda Shankara Jayant and her disciples presented the Navrasas through a unique and captivating choreography.
The evening concluded with Kathak by Guru Rajendra Gangani and his disciples, with the vibrant Anand Utsav followed by a stirring patriotic composition.
A beautiful celebration of India’s rich and diverse classical dance traditions. An evening to cherish! ❤️🇮🇳

It was truly a proud and memorable moment to be invited to the launch of “Speaking Sculptures” by none other than the illustrious Dr. Shovana Narayan ji.
The book is the culmination of years of meticulous research, deep scholarship, and unwavering dedication. It presents a compelling and evidence-based narrative that re-examines the origins of Kathak, firmly placing the dance form within the rich continuum of the Natyashastra tradition.
What struck me most was the lucid manner in which Shovana ji traces the 108 Karanas through the vocabulary of Kathak as it is practised today. The connections are so convincing and beautifully articulated that, as a Kathak practitioner, I found myself wondering, “Why did the world not recognise this lineage much earlier?”
This landmark work is more than a book—it is a significant contribution to Indian dance scholarship. It invites dancers, researchers, and art lovers alike to rediscover Kathak through the lens of history, sculpture, and textual tradition.
