Rhino Foundation – Flood Relief at Simoluguri 🙏

On 12 August, Rhino Foundation, an initiative of The Rhino Club, reached out to severely flood-affected communities in Chetia Handique Gaon, Maaj Pothar, Baanh Gaon and Lephera Gaon in Simoluguri, Sivasagar district.

Our team distributed essential relief materials to 119 affected families, including families staying in roadside shelter camps. The relief included mattresses, buckets, stools, towels, plastic ropes, umbrellas, Odomos and first-aid kits.

What we witnessed was heartbreaking. In some areas, floodwaters had risen to nearly 7 feet, washing away cattle, food stocks, clothing, furniture, books, vehicles, valuables and important documents. Large stretches of land remain covered under thick layers of mud and silt, severely damaging cultivable land and fish ponds. The disruption of drinking-water supply has added another serious challenge for the affected communities.

The scale of devastation is immense. For many families, the journey towards rebuilding their lives has only just begun, and continued support will be needed for a long time.

We sincerely thank our team members Kalyani Borua, Chandrika Phukon, Hridip Rajkhua, Kripa Dowrah, Imtiaz Hussain, and two trustees of The Rhino Club, Padma Bora and Izaz Hussain for their dedication and efforts on the ground.

The work must continue.

We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Rhino Club, held on 3rd May, 2026 at Community Center, Summer Palm Housing Society, Faridabad.

The meeting saw enthusiastic participation from members and productive discussions focused on the club’s continued growth and future initiatives.

The positions of Vice President and Secretary were filled through successful elections held during the AGM. We are happy to share the complete list of office bearers:
