Artist of August 20206:

Shivalika Kataria is a Grade A Doordarshan artist and empanelled with S**c Macay since 2016. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at Faculty of performing arts in Banasthali Vidyapith. A former Grade “A” repertory artist at Delhi Kathak Kendra, she has completed Master in Performing Arts from Maharaja Siyaji Rao University, Baroda under the tutelage of Pt. Guru Harish Sunderlal Gangani ji. She had her further training under the eminent Gurus Vidushi Nandini Singh ji and Vidushi Prerana Shrimali ji at Delhi Kathak Kendra.

A few notable solo performances of Shivalika are:

Raindrops festival, Mumbai organised by Guru Smt. Uma Dogra

Dharohar festival at Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi

ICCR performances in Algeria, Vietnam, Laos, Sri Lanka

Performance at Durham University, Durham U.K.

It is my pleasure to invite you to Dharohar Samvad, a collaborative initiative of Kalaavart Foundation and The Artiste Foundation (TAF), dedicated to meaningful dialogue on *art, philosophy and legacy of Kathak*

Kathak has been passed down through generations not only through performances, but also through conversations between gurus and disciples. Dharohar Samvaad has been envisioned in the same spirit, to create a space where experiences, traditions and ideas can be shared for the benefit of artists and students.

It will be my privilege to be in conversation with Guru Urmila Nagar Ji, our key speaker and she will reflect on her artistic journeys, the Guru-Shishya Parampara and the evolving language of Kathak.
