She wasn't breaking down. She was in perimenopause. And nobody had told her.

Her story is more common than you think.

Here's what nobody told you: plantar fasciitis spikes in perimenopausal women — because the plantar fascia is collagen-rich connective tissue, and oestrogen is what keeps that tissue elastic and resilient.

As oestrogen declines, connective tissue throughout the body becomes stiffer, more inflamed, more prone to injury. Your heel is one of the first places it shows up.
