Madras Medley n' Chennai Sringaram: ALBUM
This is my 56th year living in Chennai, posting some memorabilia for keeps.
Chennai has nurtured my roots, allowed me to spread my wings, and attain a healthy versatile personality, and an independent, progressive 'n compassionate outlook on life and humanity.
My cherished dreams have been realized here, and my name has an added zing and tang to it... This is where I changed from a Miss Myneni into a Mrs. Srinivas Naidu, and, also "Sunny Brook Ma’am", and added a tag of "Champion Billiards Player" too. Then also tagged as "The Old Green-Thumbed Lady at Padma Kunj".
I humbly dedicate these 56 years of a happy and successful life to the People of Chennai Sringaram, who have enfolded me in their tradition-bound, strong arms with love and affection.

And then Chennai, nurtured my dreams for promoting Sport; as the first Woman President, of TNBSA, my ID stretched to include the BSFI, (Vice-Pres) my wings strengthened, to fructify my dreams of Women Empowerment and nurture Cuesports in Tamilnadu…. bringing it under the umbrella of Tamilnadu Sports Development Authority…. Truly was blessed and labeled as a Dedicated Leader.
I have yet to go the last mile (a few months)..in here ….
with everlasting gratitude, zeal, and dedicated fervor...
Chennai here I am at peace, in your loving lap,
Yours truly... a humble 'n ever grateful

Soumini Srinivas.

“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”
As the 88th National Championship 2021 approached, at Sage University Sunil Bajaj, Secretary MPBSA (and BSFI) was informed about the Govt. recommending all institutions to incorporate the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” in all socio-cultural programmes.
Where can it be justifiably celebrated, other than at the ROYAL SAGE HALL, Bhopal!
An architectural marvel of an auditorium, to seat 1200 people royally in wide n plush adjustable chairs, with ample leg-space, and at a gentle incline; … all 8 EXIT doorways bolted, barring one… airconditioned ambiance, and a 40 feet wide stage, Screens with live web-cast .. and then PIN DROP SILENCE, where even a slightest sniffle could distract the Players… And the cynosure of this grand theatre is the brand new magnificently designed & fitted
SHARMA TABLE,
with focus lights hanging from a ceiling that’s 35 feet high … NOT A MARVEL??
What was the players’ reaction?
Every one of the 14 FINALE_EVENTS that panned out during this 36 Day extravaganza , had a spectacular finish,
Well Orchestrated – by TEAM MPBSA, BSFI. & SAGE; exquisitely experienced by the 28 Finalists:
1) 6 Red Snooker- Manan Chandra & Shrikrishna.
2) Ladies 6 Reds- Vidya Pillai & Varshaa Sanjeev
3) Billiards Senior- Pankaj Advani & Dhruv Sitwala.
4) Senior-Snooker- Ishpreet Singh & Malkit Singh
5) Ladies Billiards- Varshaa Sanjeev & Amee Kamani.
6) Ladies Snooker- Amee Kamani & Anupama R.
7) Subjunior Boys Billiards_ Sumehr Mago & Shayaan Razmi.
😎 Subjunior Boys- Snooker- Ranveer Duggal & Dhruv Patel.
9) Subjunior Girls_Billiards- Snenthra B. & Natasha Chetan
10)Subjunior Girls -Snooker- Kanisha & Aanya Patel.
11)Junior Boys-Billiards-Rayaan Razmi & Kreishh Gurubaxani.
12)Junior Boys Snooker-Rayaan Razmi & Digvijay Kadiyan
13) Junior Girls -Billiards -Anupama R. & Keerthana P.
14) Junior Girls Snooker- Anupama R. & Keerthana P.
Shrikrishna played like he was on a Kaliya-narthana, as if this gave him the experience of the “CRUCIBLE” (the ultimate for a Cue-ist)!!!
Pankaj Advani- the World -class -collector of Gold-medals, seemed satisfied by the rich silence in the vast HALL, and the final applause.
The ladies were in great ship-shape-style, so also the boys, smartly so!
Finally, Rayaan Razmi after a marathon Decider with Kadiyan, just looked around 20 feet behind the Bottom cushion where the BLACK was stuck…
And 20 feet behind the TOP cushion where the Cueball was safely lodged, looked up at the 30th Row of Seats, probably to seek his Lady-Luck hiding there… and then…
WHOOSH.. and he doubled Black into TOP pocket!! To corner the GOLD and Glory!
That’s SAGE-Amrit MAHOTSAV for you!
One-of -a kind-National!

Haria and Damani on fire, Amee Shocked!!

IOC cueists Dhvaj Haria and Brijesh Damani caused major upsets in the ongoing Sage 6 Red Snooker National Championship 2021.

Both having contrasting victories in the earlier stage, where Dhvaj convincingly won his group matches and Brijesh managed a solid comeback from a close to defeat deficit in all his games in the group stage, both the cueists showed composure and skill to overcome their fierce rivals.

Dhvaj happen to get the better of Asian Champion Pankaj Advani with a score of 5-2 while Brijesh overcame IOC team mate Aditya Mehta with a similar 5-2 scoreline.

As the Men progress towards their Quarter final matches, 2nd December can be marked as a day of upsets as State favourite Amee Kamani was knocked out by Varsha Sanjeev earlier in the day in the Women Quarter Finals.

Stay tuned for more updates only on BSFI...

till then
