Spinning a new web of versatility! 🌀👇

Meet Siddharth Jagadeesan—a natural right-arm leg-spinner who turned his curiosity into a game-changing skill.

While at home, Siddharth developed a fascination for left-arm off-spin. Instead of leaving it as an idea, he stayed back after net sessions to put in the quiet work. When our coaches caught him testing out his left arm, the control and pitch were too good to ignore. With their encouragement, he took the leap—and today, he's a full-fledged ambidextrous bowler ready to throw any batter off their rhythm.

Hard work, adaptability, and the courage to try something new. Watch out for this young talent! 🏏🔥

🏆 RUNNERS-UP | WGCA U-16 TOURNAMENT 🏏

A final that tested our boys right till the end.

The opposition won the all-important toss and elected to bat first. Their openers got off to a flying start, putting together 110 runs for the first wicket in 15 overs. Our bowlers fought back with wickets through the innings, with Gautam Garv returning 2/22 and Vageeshwaran picking up 2/35, as the opposition finished with 223/6 in 30 overs.

Chasing 224 for the title, the boys found the early going difficult. Gautam and Vishwanth battled through the opening phase before Vageeshwaran and Sanjeev Joseph brought the chase back into contention with a valuable 65-run partnership.

Vagee fell for a fighting 51, but Sanjeev kept the chase alive with an outstanding 70 off 55 balls. The boys kept pushing till the very end, finishing at 180/5 in 30 overs as we finished 43 runs short of the title.

A runner-up finish, but plenty to be proud of. ❤️💙

🏅 Best All-Rounder of the Tournament: Vageeshwaran
🏏 Best Batter of the Tournament: Sanjeev Joseph

Congratulations to the entire squad for a memorable tournament. The result may not have gone our way in the final, but the journey, performances and individual recognition make this a campaign to remember.

Proud of this team. Onwards and upwards. 👏🏏

Great cricket isn’t just about quick reflexes—it’s about deliberate decision-making under pressure. 🧠🏏

We put our academy players through a mental discipline drill: count in ascending order, but filter out any multiple of 3 or 5. Taking those 2–3 seconds to think before speaking trains the mind to resist urge-driven mistakes and process information clearly.

Whether it's deciding which delivery to leave or reading a match situation on the field, ex*****on is only as good as the decision preceding it. 🎯

How high do you think you could count before making a slip-up? Drop your guess below! 👇

From the first ball to the very last, today belonged to Mohit Prathap 💯👏

Opening the innings for Kancheepuram U-14 against Thoothukudi U-14, Mohit produced an innings of exceptional maturity, remaining unbeaten on 151* off 158 deliveries as his side amassed 290/4 in 50 overs. Rather than chasing milestones, he built the innings brick by brick, guiding his team through crucial partnerships of 98, 90 and an unbeaten 71*, ensuring Kancheepuram never lost momentum.

His knock was a perfect blend of patience and acceleration. After bringing up his fifty in 67 balls, he reached his century in 118 deliveries before shifting gears brilliantly, racing from 100 to 150 in just 40 balls. The innings was decorated with 17 boundaries, but even more impressive was the control and composure he displayed throughout.

As remarkable as the batting effort was, what truly stood out was his commitment to the team. After spending all 50 overs at the crease, Mohit took up his wicketkeeping duties for 47.5 overs, adding a catch behind the stumps to cap off an outstanding all-round day. To maintain such levels of fitness, concentration and intensity over the course of an entire match is no ordinary feat for a 14-year-old.

Congratulations, Mohit, on a truly memorable performance. May this be the first of many such innings in your cricketing journey. Keep raising the bar! 🌟🏏

🧢🏏 A Simple Drill. A Powerful Lesson.

Today, one of our coaches introduced an interesting drill for our young spinners.

The bowlers were asked to wear a cap and remove it with their non-bowling hand during the loading phase of their action before delivering the ball.

At first glance, it may seem like a fun challenge—but there's solid coaching science behind it.

The drill helps:
✅ Synchronize the non-bowling arm with the bowling action.
✅ Keep the front shoulder active and aligned.
✅ Improve rhythm, balance and body coordination.
✅ Develop a more repeatable and efficient bowling action.

The cap isn't what matters—the timing and movement do. By giving the non-bowling arm a purposeful task, the body learns to sequence the bowling action more naturally.

Sometimes, the best coaching innovations are the simplest ones.

🎥 Here's a glimpse of the drill in action!

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Gautam Garv and Vageeshwaran provided another solid start with a steady 58-run opening partnership. Gautam contributed 18 before Vagee carried the innings forward with a composed and fluent 58 off 61 balls.

The middle overs saw complete control from Yashwin, Rahul Narasimhan and Hajeesh, whose tight spells choked the opposition and never allowed the required rate to settle. Just when the innings needed stability, Eshwar and Darsh stepped up brilliantly with counter-attacking knocks of 38 each, lifting MCA A to a competitive 142/12 in 28.4 overs. Contributions with the ball were well spread, with Arjun, Rushika and Utkarsh leading the effort, supported by disciplined spells from the rest.
