Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Senior Advocate, Former Advocate General of Punjab, and President of the Chandigarh Rowing Association and Chandigarh Olympic Association, warmly welcomed and felicitated rowers Jaspal Singh and Yuvraj Parmar for their outstanding achievement in winning the Gold Medal in the Men's Double Sculls event at the Under-23 National Rowing Championship held in Pune, Maharashtra.

The athletes were honored upon their arrival in Chandigarh, along with their coach, Jaspal Singh, in recognition of their exceptional performance and for bringing laurels to Chandigarh. Dr. Sidhu congratulated the rowers and their coach, appreciating their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence, and wished them continued success in future national and international competitions.

Gold Medal for Chandigarh Rowing Association at Under-23 National Rowing Championship

Pune, India, June 27, 2026: UT Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) rowers Jaspal Singh and Yuvraj Singh Parmar clinched the Gold Medal in the Men's Double Scull event at the Under-23 National Rowing Championship, held today at the Army Rowing Node, Pune.

The duo clocked an impressive 7:38.8, finishing ahead of teams from Odisha, Punjab, and Delhi to secure the top podium finish.

Panjab University dominated the All India Inter-University Rowing Championship and lifted the winners’ trophy as the championship concluded on May 10, 2026, at Sukhna Lake. Panjab University rowers secured multiple medals in both the men’s and women’s events during the five-day championship.

Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, Senior Advocate and Former advocate general Punjab and President of the Chandigarh Rowing Association and President of the Chandigarh Olympic Association, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Rajiv Sharma Secretary General Chandigarh Rowing Association and olympian Arjuna awardee in rowing Inderpal Singh were the guests of honour at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu congratulated the Panjab University rowers for their medal-winning performances and appreciated Dr. Rakesh Malik Director sports Punjab University for successfully conducting the five-day rowing championship. He emphasized that more such rowing activities should be organized in the City Beautiful by Chandigarh Rowing Association in association with Punjab university Chandigarh.

Dr. Sidhu later declared the championship closed, followed by the national anthem # Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana of Department of Sports, MYAS, Government of India
