LOC EXPEDITION 2026

01–06 SEPTEMBER | 6 DAYS | JAMMU & KASHMIR

Greetings!

The Offroad Tribe, in association with North Star Motorsport, is undertaking a once-in-a-lifetime 6-day expedition towards the Line of Control, commencing 1st September 2026, in coordination with the Indian Army and subject to all required permissions.

This journey takes us through some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir, including areas where civilian movement and overnight stays are restricted and which are not ordinarily accessible to general tourism.

One of the defining experiences will be our stay at Keran, in the beautiful Kishan Ganga Valley along the frontier.

Leading this extraordinary journey is Col. (Retd.) Bhupi Shahi, Chief Military Consultant for the movie Dhurandhar, who has been instrumental in coordinating the relevant permissions and permits with the Army.

Also in command will be ace rallyist Sunny Sidhu, whose extensive rallying, off-roading and expedition-driving experience will help guide the convoy through the challenging Himalayan terrain.

🏔️ THE 6-DAY ROUTE

DAY 1 | 01 SEP
📍 Pathankot → Guldanda Pass → Bhaderwah
High-altitude ascent, mountain switchbacks and an incredible transition from the plains into alpine terrain.
🌙 Night: Bhaderwah

DAY 2 | 02 SEP
📍 Bhaderwah → Jai Valley → Kishtwar → Sinthan Pass → Srinagar
Mountain trails, spectacular Jai Valley, Kishtwar and the dramatic Sinthan Pass crossing into the Kashmir Valley.
🌙 Night: Srinagar

DAY 3 | 03 SEP
📍 Srinagar → Kupwara Sector → Chowkibal → Pharkian Gali → Keran
Rugged switchbacks, spectacular mountain scenery and descent into the remote Kishan Ganga Valley.

DAY 4 | 04 SEP
📍 Keran → Z-Gali Pass → Machil
A demanding high-altitude transit through isolated valleys, narrow mountain roads and remote Himalayan terrain.

DAY 5 | 05 SEP
📍 Machil → Madan Bahak → Kalaroos Sector → Lolab Valley
One of the expedition’s most adventurous days — remote trails, pine forests, mountain meadows and spectacular frontier landscapes.

DAY 6 | 06 SEP
📍 Lolab → Srinagar → Ganderbal → Sonamarg
The final mountain convoy through the Kashmir Valley, culminating amid the magnificent alpine surroundings of Sonamarg.

🚙 NON-COMMERCIAL EXPEDITION

This is strictly a NO-PROFIT / NO-LOSS expedition amongst friends and families.

All expenses will be on an actual-cost basis — pay as you eat, stay and travel. Participants will use their own vehicles and bear their own fuel and associated expenses.

Participation and permissions are limited to a small group of close friends and families and will be accepted on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS.

🚘 VEHICLE REQUIREMENT

4x4 strongly recommended.
Where a 4x4 is unavailable, a capable 4x2 with high ground clearance should be preferred.

⏳ CONFIRMATION

Interested participants are requested to confirm participation by 23rd August, EOD, allowing sufficient time for final coordination and permissions.

This isn’t just another road trip.

Six days. Multiple high-altitude passes. Remote Himalayan valleys. Challenging terrain. Incredible camaraderie. And access to a part of Kashmir that very few travellers ever get to experience.
