IVF is not only about having a good embryo. Your uterus also needs to be ready to receive and support that embryo.
Before transfer, factors that may matter include:
• Endometrial lining → it should be developing appropriately for implantation
• Uterine receptivity → even with a good lining and blood flow, the endometrium needs to be receptive during the implantation window for an embryo to attach
• Uterine cavity → fibroids, polyps, adhesions, or adenomyosis can affect implantation in some women
• Hormonal support → especially properly timed progesterone and estrogen
• Overall uterine health → underlying inflammation or reproductive conditions may also need evaluation
• Stress, sleep, nutrition & recovery → these support overall health alongside your medical treatment
So having a “good lining” on an ultrasound does not tell the complete story. Timing, receptivity, embryo quality, and other uterine factors all play a role in implantation.
That’s why before IVF, the focus shouldn’t only be on creating a good embryo. Your body and uterus should also be properly prepared for the transfer.
In our program, we support women preparing for IVF through fertility yoga, stress management, breathwork, nutrition, sleep, and overall reproductive-health support, alongside their fertility specialist’s treatment.
