Glimpses from the Final and Presentation Ceremony of the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026, where Dr. K. Govindaraj, President – FIBA Asia, was present to hand over the championship trophy to Australia, following their 89–79 victory over China.

Dr. Govindaraj’s continued efforts and leadership have played an important role in helping bring major international basketball events to India, creating opportunities for Indian audiences, players and the basketball fraternity to experience the highest level of the sport on home soil.

Strengthening Basketball Across Asia 🌏🏀

Dr. K. Govindaraj, President of FIBA Asia and the Karnataka State Basketball Association (KSBBA), chaired the 6th Meeting of the FIBA Asia Board (2023–2027) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The meeting brought together FIBA President Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Executive Director – Asia Hagop Khajirian, and FIBA Asia Board Members to discuss the strategic roadmap for the continued growth of basketball across Asia and initiatives to address the region's evolving challenges.

A significant step towards shaping the future of basketball in Asia.
