From the waters of India to the world stage โ a journey powered by discipline, resilience, and relentless hard work. ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฃโโ๏ธ
We are proud to share that athlete Samara Chacko represented India at the World Championships held in Brandenburg and delivered an outstanding performance on the international stage.
Competing against some of the worldโs best athletes, Samara achieved a remarkable milestone by lowering her timing in the K500m event โ recording one of the best performances ever by an Indian woman kayaker in this category. ๐ช๐
Behind every second gained lies countless hours of training, recovery, strength & conditioning, focus, and sacrifice. Her performance is not just a personal achievement, but a proud moment for Indian kayaking and a reflection of what consistent sports science support and athlete dedication can accomplish.
And the journey continuesโฆ โ๏ธ๐น๐ท
Samara is now heading to Ankara for an advanced one-month international training camp, where she will continue preparing, learning, and pushing her limits even further.
This is only the beginning of something bigger.
The goal remains clear โ evolve, compete, and raise the standard for Indian women in kayaking. ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฅ
Wishing her the very best for this next phase of training and future competitions.

History in the making. ๐
For the first time, Karnataka has taken a major step towards scientific athlete development through the DYES Hostel Selection Project, where young athletes underwent comprehensive sports science testing at the Centre for Sports Science.
These students came forward with passion, dedication, and dreams โ and through structured performance assessments, we aimed to understand their true athletic potential beyond just performance on the field.
From agility and endurance testing to mobility, strength, balance, and functional movement analysis, every assessment was designed to help identify talent scientifically and create a stronger pathway for future champions.
This initiative reflects the growing importance of sports science in grassroots athlete development and highlights how evidence-based testing can support better training, injury prevention, and long-term performance growth.
We are proud to witness the enthusiasm, discipline, and determination shown by every student who participated. The future of sports begins with opportunities like these. ๐ช๐ฝโจ

๐ฎ๐ณ A Proud Moment for Karnataka Sports Science.
The Centre for Sports Science (CSS), Bengaluru โ under the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka โ today had the honour of meeting Respected Dr. Shalini Rajneesh Maโam, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka and Respected Naveen Raj Singh Sir, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka, to share a historic milestone.
Our CSS Sports Scientists โ Gayatri Suresh, Pravallika, Ashima, Nayana, and Galore Systemโs Biomechanists Rohith and Tamilselvan โ have had their research paper officially accepted at the 44th ISBS Conference, Loughborough University, UK (July 2026).
๐ Research Paper:
โIncremental Validity of Force-Plate-Derived Countermovement Jump Metrics for Speed and Agility Performance in 3,805 School-Aged Youthโ
This study investigates whether advanced force plate technology โ used to measure explosive jump mechanics โ can predict speed and agility in school-going children, assessed across Karnataka. With a dataset of 3,805 youth, it is one of the largest biomechanics studies of its kind in India.
Loughborough University is the worldโs No. 1 Sports Science University for 9 consecutive years. ISBS is the most prestigious sports biomechanics conference globally. To the best of our knowledge, CSS Bangalore is the first Indian sports science institution to achieve this
This research was conducted under DYES, Government of Karnataka โ making this Karnatakaโs achievement on the world stage. ๐
Deep gratitude to Dr. Shalini Rajneesh Maโam whose visionary leadership as Additional Chief Secretary, Sports planted the seed that has today reached Loughborough. And to Naveen Raj Singh Sir for the Departmentโs continued support and belief in CSS and our mission.
Proud of our team. Proud of Karnataka. ๐ฎ๐ณ

Silver at the Khelo India Asmita Fencing State League โ but what you see here is just the final moment.
What you donโt see:
The early rehab days.
The movement corrections.
The strength sessions that didnโt feel glamorous.
The consistency on days motivation was low.
As an S&C + Physiotherapy support system, the goal was never just recovery โ it was performance with resilience.
We worked on:
โข Building strength specific to fencing demands
โข Improving mobility without compromising stability
โข Injury prevention through load management
โข Translating rehab into performance
Because at this level, itโs not just about being pain-free โ itโs about being competition-ready, explosive, and confident under pressure.
Proud to be part of this journey.
This is just the beginning ๐โ**
