Sahara City - Middle Eastern Dance School

Founded in 1996 by renowned dancer, teacher and choreographer Tina Girsh, Sahara City is the leading belly dance school in Israel. It’s a warm artistic home to dancers of all ages, body types and levels, from beginner and casual dancers to professional dancers. Tina gives each student emotional support and guidance in their dance, related skills, costume design, and greater personal and artistic development. Professionals learn advanced technique, and receive support for staging, choreography and costumes

While Sahara City specializes in Traditional Egyptian Belly Dance, it offers a uniquely holistic training within the wide range of Middle Eastern and North African music, art and dance styles. Sahara City has classes, workshops, ceremonies, a Belly Dance Teacher Training course, and the first-of-its-kind Belly Dance Therapy course. All offerings are lighthearted, fun, physically accessible and cultivate healing, creativity, self-expression, as well as coordination, fitness, and female body health. Lastly, while belly dance is mostly associated with women, many men also study at Sahara City, where they enjoy an open-minded learning environment

Sahara City’s colorful studio is located at 45 Amzaleg Street in the beautiful Neve Tsedek neighborhood of Tel Aviv. It's filled with inspiring decorations, costumes, jewelry, scarves, sticks and more for sale. The studio is also available to rent for workshops and special events
