The story you are telling yourself and the actual event are basically never the same thing.

Something happened — that's the fact. What it means about the world, you, or others, that is the narrative that you added, the meaning you gave the events.

So what does any given situation or occurrence in your life say about you or your future?
Only , but seriously ONLY, what you believe it will. You get to write this part. And you get to rewrite too.

sorting situations into categories — good news, bad news, mistake, win doesn't actually move anyone forward. It just adds a layer of judgment on top of what's already happened.

There is no good, no bad — just what is, and what's next.
It sounds simple, but it changes the entire conversation.

It's just clarity you need to get unstuck.

When we take action from our auto pilot, we are really letting old subconscious wiring run the show.
Even when we pause to question our thoughts, we will often be attached to them; especially the ones that include judgment call son what is right and what is wrong. What should be and what should not.
All too often we resist accepting what is, because it goes against our deep belief systems around right and wrong.
But when we learn to separate them, we we learn to accept what is, that is, where we find freedom.

We have a very opinionated automatic narrative that we insert between the 'what happened' and 'how will I respond' — and it costs us time and clarity and most of all - intentional choices.

All of us argue with reality sometimes.

This shouldn't be this way or that way.
He shouldn't have done this or that.

Sometimes we believe that acceptance means agreement.

But acceptance is actually freedom.
It is not saying something is fine — it's saying 'this is what it is and it is outside my boundaries' .

Only when you accept what is, you can stop arguing with reality and intentionally decide what is next.

Your identity and personality is not defined by your thoughts; it is defined by the meaning you attach to them, and the way to choose to show up after them.
