🌞 What a summer it’s been with She Summits! 🌿

We’ve ventured far and wide across the Wicklow mountains this summer, exploring:

⛰️ Art’s Cross
⛰️ Black Hill
💦 Bray Lakes
⛰️ Camaderry
⛰️ Church Mountain
⛰️ Derrybawn
💧 Lough Ouler
⛰️ Sorrel Hill
🌲 The Spinc
🏕️ Plus a Wild Camp!

Lots of miles, plenty of adventure, some wild weather, big climbs, quiet moments and most importantly, good company on the trails.

We’ve still got one final Wild Camp next weekend, and then it’s all systems go for the final preparations for Trail Criú Fauna Trail Running Festival. 🦌

And from mid-September, our Wednesday and Sunday morning guided trails are back. 🌿 Plus our INCLUSIVE LEAD Workshop in October!

Here’s to the last few weeks of summer adventures. ✨

It was wonderful to facilitate two Intro to Trail Running sessions as part of Wicklow Sports Partnership’s Wicklow Outdoors Week, one in Bray and one in Lacken.

Two lovely groups of strong, supportive women taking on some pretty gorgeous 💚⛰️✨

Huge thanks to the Wicklow Sports and Recreation team for the opportunity and for putting on such a brilliant week of events. 🌿

Here’s to more women finding their way onto the trails!

The best outdoor leaders don't just guide people along a trail. They help people feel like they belong. 💚

Belonging isn't something that happens by chance. It's created through the way we welcome people, communicate, adapt and lead.

The Inclusive Lead is a small group, 4 hour outdoor workshop for anyone who wants to build more inclusive, welcoming and supportive trail communities.

Together we'll explore:

🌿 Practical inclusive leadership
🌿 Creating environments where people feel seen and supported
🌿 Real conversations and shared experiences
🌿 Simple actions that make a lasting difference

Whether you lead hikes, trail runs, community groups or simply care about making the outdoors more accessible, this workshop is for you.

Summer Sundays in the Hills – Lough Ouler 💚

Wind. 🌬️ Rain. 🌧️ A rainbow. 🌈 Smiles from start to finish. Wasn't it fun? 😁

Today we reached Lough Ouler, but chose not to continue to the summit of Tonelagee as the wind and rain became too strong. Knowing when to turn back is all part of mountain adventures and looking after each other. ⛰️

The hills sparked plenty of conversation, from our mountain flora and blooming heather to mountain access, responsible dog ownership and the importance of protecting our hills from fire risk.
🌿🐕🔥

We also reflected on something deeper: that a group of women moving confidently through these mountains, taking up space in places where many have historically felt excluded or unwelcome, is quietly political in itself. Every step a small act of visibility, showing that these hills are for everyone.

Next Sunday we head for Derrybawn Ridge, where we're hoping to be greeted by a spectacular carpet of blooming purple heather. 💜 We can't wait!
