What an incredible weekend for the Club at the Irish Pony Club Connolly's RED MILLS Eventing Championships 2026 in the magnificent grounds of Tattersalls!

We are immensely proud of the 40 Killinick members who made the journey from the sunny South East to represent our branch at one of the biggest events in the Pony Club calendar. From outstanding performances in the arena to unforgettable memories in the campsite, it truly was a magical weekend filled with friendship, determination, teamwork, and success 🤩

Saturday morning saw competitors complete the dressage phase, with several Killinick riders producing exceptional tests and securing top placings along with beautiful prizes sponsored by Carr & Day & Martin.

Highlights included:
Kate Jordan & Serene Ace taking 1st place in Intermediate Arena 2 with a superb score of 17.75, finishing an impressive 6.25 penalties ahead of the field 🥇
Joe Ryan & Ted led Intro Intermediate Arena 3 after dressage on 29.00, while Bethany Nolan & Epaulette Latino Dream were close behind in 3rd on 30.00 🥇🥉
Ruby Cousins & Sally Grey Gallough produced a lovely test to sit in 2nd in Junior Arena 8 on 29.25 🥈

Saturday afternoon brought the next challenge, with Open and Intermediate riders tackling a demanding and beautifully presented cross-country course, while the remaining classes completed their showjumping phase.

Sunday started bright and early, with the cross-country phase underway for our Intro Intermediate, Junior, Intro Junior and U12 competitors. The green and yellow colours were proudly represented across the country as riders delivered some fantastic rounds. Meanwhile, nerves were building around the showjumping arenas as Open and Intermediate competitors fought to maintain their positions.

As the championship reached its conclusion, we gathered in the main sales ring on Sunday evening for a fantastic prize giving, and the celebrations began. The Championship Results were as follows:

𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧: Amy Griffith & Wex Gal completed a fantastic weekend to finish 3rd overall in the Open Championship 🥉

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞: The Killinick Green Team of Kate Jordan, Aoife Griffith, Ruby Reville and Luella Hunt finished an excellent 5th in the Intermediate Team Championship. In their respective arenas, Aoife Griffith & Electric Bailey placed 3rd, with Luella Hunt & Jack Mack finishing in 6th! 🥉👏🏻

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞: The Killinick Green Team of Niamh Ryan, Joe Ryan, Lily-Mai Berry and Bethany Nolan claimed the Championship Team Title 🥇🏆 In their respective arenas, Joe Ryan & Ted took the win, Niamh Ryan & Rua finished 3rd, with Bethany Nolan & Epaulette Latino Dream placing 5th, and Lily-Mai Berry & Chillie finishing in 6th! 🥇🥉 Caitlin Colfer & Juniper Clover also took home 6th! 🙌🏻
(A special mention goes to Lily-Mai, who celebrated her 21st birthday on championship day!)

𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫: In an exceptionally competitive division, the Killinick Green Team of Freya Barry, Caitlin Griffith, Shannon Griffith and Ruby Cousins secured a brilliant 4th place. In their respective arenas, Freya Barry & The Causey Girl placed 5th. Caitlin Griffith & Drinagh's Golden Lad took home 6th. Ruby Cousins & Sally Grey Gallough placed 2nd! 🥈

While the results were fantastic, what stood out most was the support, encouragement and team spirit shown by each of you throughout the weekend. Whether competing, cheering from the sidelines, helping teammates prepare, or supporting at the finish line, everyone played their part in making the championship such a memorable weekend! 🥳

A huge thank you must go to our parents and guardians whose dedication, time and countless miles travelled throughout the season helped our members qualify and compete at this level. These achievements simply would not be possible without your commitment and support.

Our members have been busy at Tetrathlon’s & Showjumping Qualifiers over the past week.

💥 Senior International Tetrathlon 💥
Aoife Griffith represented Killinick & the Irish Pony Club at the Senior International Tetrathlon in Pontispool, UK. They had a great weekend with Aoife and her team placing 5th in the Regional Girls section & 2nd in the International Girls competition! 🥈🤩

💥 Area 4 SJ Classic Qualifier 💥
We were well represented at the Area 4 Showjumping Classic Qualifier held in Butterfly Farm.

The 80cm class saw Scott Doran take 1st, followed close behind by Hugo Doran in 2nd, and Billy Scallan in 4th! 🥇🥈

The 90cm class saw Scott Doran take the win, with Max Doran in 2nd, Mary Kate Kelly in 3rd, & Mollie Bates Doyle in 7th! Judy Sinnott also qualified! 🥇🥈🥉

In the 1m class, Max Doran took 2nd, while Mollie Bates Doyle took joint 3rd! 🥈🥉

A huge well done to all! 💚💛
