This week’s competition was converted to a Sweepstake as a result of what had of late become a very unfamiliar occurrence - rain, rain and more rain!
Congratulations to Martina F on carding a super 40 Stableford points on Saturday to take top spot, ahead of Catherine on 38 and Martina D on 37 points. Great shooting ladies!

It was not to be for our Senior Foursomes in Shandon Park yesterday. They played superbly and the matches were very tight, going all the way to the 16th, 18th and 19th holes. Their opponents, Co Sligo, were crowned All Ireland Champions today which is an indication of the exceptional strength of their team.
Although our ladies may be feeling a bit disappointed, they should take pride in having acquitted themselves so well. There is absolutely no shame in taking the All Ireland Champions to the wire!

HolmPatrick Cup
On a sunny day, two stalwarts of Wexford Golf Club competed in the HolmPatrick Cup regional qualifier in Millicent Golf Club.
The HolmPatrick Cup is an all Ireland charity event which is run to support Vision Ireland (formerly the National Council for the Blind).
Unfortunately the golfing gods didn’t smile on John Pitt and Paddy McGuire and they won’t progress to the Final in Mullingar GC for the opportunity to play in St Andrews….again!
However they put in a very creditable score and were excellent representatives for Wexford Golf Club.
Well done, John and Paddy!

There was great fun & games on the course yesterday for the 14 Hole Step Aside Scramble. Congratulations to Denise, Madge & Mary on a near faultless round of 48 to take the top spot. Well done also to Mary Hatton on yet another fantastic 10 Hole score of 28 Stableford points!
