The Building consists of a Sports Hall, Library, Development Office, Bar and Kitchen facilities, Public Toilets and Showers for the adjacent Campsite. The Community Centre & Bar hosts many events such as Ceiles, Sports Tournaments, Country Markets, Fundraisers, Workshops, Musicals and Drama Productions and Meetings. There is regular entertainment on the weekends throughout the summer months. We can cater for weddings, dinner dances and other celebrations for up to 200 people. Choose from a range of menus from buffet to 5 courses.

And just like that, another season at Anchor Bar is coming to an end 🥺🍂

This is our last weekend of food, with the kitchen closing for the season on Sunday, 27th September at 6pm. Please note some changes in kitchen opening hours*

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a meal, a drink, a bit of craic, or simply called in during the season. We’ve loved welcoming you through our doors and hope to see you all again next year!

And a very special thank you to our wonderful staff for all their hard work throughout the season❤️

Another busy summer season coming to a close🥺

With lots of our brilliant staff heading back to school and college, we’ll be running on reduced hours for September.

A huge thank you to all our amazing staff, and also to all the extra helpers who have stepped in and helped us out on those particularly busy days. We really appreciate you all! 🩵

We’re delighted to share that Clare Island Community Centre has received funding from The Heritage Council through the Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2026 to develop a new Clare Island Heritage Audio Guide🎧🚶‍♂️‍➡️

Working with Abarta Heritage, the guide will explore Clare Island’s history, heritage and stories and create a new digital resource for both the local community and visitors to the island.

As part of National Heritage Week, we’re holding a Community Engagement Evening tomorrow, Wednesday 19th August at 7.30pm in Clare Island Community Centre.

We’ll share the proposed points of interest for the guide and invite local knowledge, stories, suggestions and feedback to help shape the project, with Abarta Heritage’s scriptwriter joining us virtually on the evening.

Everyone is very welcome to attend and contribute😊

We’re very grateful to The Heritage Council for supporting the project and look forward to sharing more as it develops🌟
