Recently I had the opportunity to co-lead a 9 day expedition in Lofoten with Kristoffer Vandbakk from Norwegian Sea Kayaking. Over our time there, we had every type of weather possible thrown at us, making for a challenging trip at times but the group handled everything with ease and met every day head on. A group of paddlers I would be more than happy to paddle anywhere with again in future!
Kristoffer Vandbakk knows this area like the back of his hand and his local knowledge was invaluable in the bad weather. To anyone looking at visiting the region to paddle in 2027, make sure to contact Norwegian Sea Kayaking. I also had the pleasure of paddling with over the week and Andreas will be one to watch on the guiding roster in the future for sure, a huge asset to the team.

Taking full advantage of the Northerlies all week giving lovely calm conditions here on the South Coast. This a small snapshot of Sheep Island, according to Oileán by the other David Walsh, author, the Island has more arches and through caves per metre squared than any other Irish Island. I'm on the water most days this time of year, get in touch if you would like to go see these places yourself.
