We are excited to announce a new social touch rugby programme coming to Virginia R.F.C. as part of the nationwide IRFU initiative!

Whether you want to build confidence, make new connections, or simply enjoy rugby in a fun and supportive environment, this new no-contact touch rugby programme is for you.

Kicking off the 2026/27 season in style! 🏉🖤🤍

We were delighted to welcome Barry O’Reilly of O’Reilly Group & Precast to the club as our official Senior Men’s 1st team sponsor for the new season.

To mark the occasion ahead of our season opening match, Honorary President Douglas Kinkade presented Barry with a framed Senior Men’s 1XV jersey. It was also a privilege to have Douglas present Neville Hall with his Captain Cap for leading the Virginia Senior Men back in 1986 and 1996! 🧢

The atmosphere around the clubhouse was electric, with great rugby, fantastic company, and soaking in the brilliant matchday spirit - it's good to be back 💪🏻

Here’s to a massive season ahead. Up Virginia! 🖤🤍

🏉 A flying start to the season!

Virginia 1XV kicked off their league campaign in style with a dominant 53–7 win away against Monaghan, bouncing back brilliantly from their pre-season.

🐿️ Captain Conor Cahill and Vice Captain Adam Sherriff leading the pack for the season ahead.

New member to the squad, Jon Carr marked a dream debut with a hat-trick, while further tries from Luke Brodie, Adam Sheriff (2), Oliver Lotscher, and a penalty from Ronan Smith sealed the bonus-point victory in tough conditions. Big shoutout to Sean Warren on an exceptional send-off performance before heading to Australia.

A great all-round team effort, though Coach Simon Deevy and Captain Conor Cahill noted discipline and handling the penalty count will be key areas to work on ahead of next week.

We are thrilled to kick off the 2026/2027 season this Saturday as our Virginia Men 1XV take on Monaghan Men 1XV.
