U12 Boys Red Team
Parkville United 7 - 3 St. Joseph's

Parkville Under-12s Red welcomed St Joseph’s for an entertaining and hard-fought match that had plenty of goals, strong defending and some excellent teamwork from both sides.

Parkville got off to a flying start, with Erik Bialko opening the scoring after 10 minutes. Derek Ogomblo then doubled Parkville’s lead in the 24th minute with a well-taken goal.

St Joseph’s continued to play some excellent football and created some great opportunities, but Parkville’s defence stood strong and worked hard to keep their opponents at bay. At half-time, Parkville went into the break with a 2–0 lead.

St Joseph’s came out strongly in the second half and quickly put the pressure on. Ciaran Murphy scored a lovely goal to get St Joseph’s back into the game, before an own goal for Parkville brought the visitors even closer. St Joseph’s continued to push, with Brian Byrne adding another goal to their tally.

Parkville responded brilliantly. The team began linking up beautifully, creating chances and showing great determination. Erik Bialko and Derek Ogomblo both went on to add further goals, putting Parkville back in control.

It was a tightly contested match from start to finish, with both teams battling hard across the pitch. Parkville continued to work together right until the final whistle, and Philip O’Callaghan put the finishing touch on the game by scoring Parkville’s final goal in the last few seconds.

A fantastic performance from both teams Plenty of goals, great teamwork and a brilliant effort from both sides made for an exciting game of football.

U12 Boys White Team
St. Joseph's 2 - 2 Parkville United

A thrilling and closely fought U12 Division 3 encounter between St Joseph’s and Parkville White finished all square at 2–2, with both teams producing an entertaining game of football.

St Joseph’s got off to a bright start and took the lead through Lachlainn McMaster, who was beginning to cause problems for the Parkville defence.

Parkville responded well and were awarded a penalty after Cruz Burke was brought down in the box. Bobbi O’Neill stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to level the game at 1–1, which was how it stood at half-time.

Just five minutes into the second half, St Joseph’s regained the lead, with Lachlainn McMaster grabbing his second of the game. McMaster was becoming an increasing threat, but Parkville had a strong last line of defence in goalkeeper Eli Cosgrove, who produced a number of excellent saves to keep his team in the contest.

To their credit, Parkville never gave up and continued to push for an equaliser. Their persistence was rewarded when Bobbi O’Neill struck again, this time with a cracking long-range effort following good work from Jack Gahan, bringing the score to 2–2.

The match could have gone either way in the closing stages, with both sides pushing for a winner, but in the end a draw was probably a fair reflection of an excellent contest.

U14 Girls League
Parkville United 1 - 3 Hanover Harps

What a fantastic evening for football at Parkville, with the game beginning in beautiful sunshine before finishing under the new pitch lights on the fantastic Premier pitch.

Parkville started brightly, moving the ball well and showing plenty of confidence going forward. Carly Duffy Boland was excellent through midfield, linking play and driving the team forward, while Darcie O’Connor and Emma O’Toole kept the Hanover defence busy. Amy Lynch and Elise Byrne worked hard in the wide areas, with Maddie Cahill, Hannah Baird, Bronagh Byrne and Ava Byrne putting in some great defensive work against a lively Hanover attack.

Hanover made the breakthrough in the 22nd minute, when Sara Donegan found the net to give the visitors a 1–0 lead. Parkville responded well and continued to create opportunities, with captain Mia Bernie making some important saves to keep the girls in the contest.

Half-time: Parkville 0–1 Hanover

Muireann Byrne and Grace Kelly were introduced at half-time and immediately brought fresh energy to the Parkville side.

Hanover started the second half quickly, with Georgia Coffey scoring in the 37th minute to make it 2–0. Parkville refused to let their heads drop and instead began to play some of their best football of the evening.

Their hard work was rewarded in the 55th minute. Carly Duffy Boland delivered a cracking cross into the danger area and Darcie O’Connor was there to finish it off. ⚽🔥 2–1 and game on!

Parkville really pushed for the equaliser after that. Muireann Byrne made a big impact, while Éirínn Kirwan and Carly Duffy Boland battled hard in the middle of the park. Elise Byrne and Grace Kelly continued to provide an outlet going forward, with Darcie O’Connor and Emma O’Toole keeping the Hanover defence under pressure.

Hanover struck again in the 62nd minute, with Róisín O’Neill finding the net to make it 3–1.

Still Parkville kept going. Millie Kinsella was introduced followed by Grace Fleming and Sofija Leiliona bringing more fresh energy as the girls battled right to the final whistle.

There were plenty of positives to take from the performance, with Carly Duffy Boland, Darcie O’Connor and Muireann Byrne particularly impressive. Mia Bernie captained the side well and recorded 11 saves, while Hanover’s goalkeeper made 6 saves, showing that Parkville created plenty of chances of their own.

For Hanover, Nicole Mordas, Róisín O’Neill and Georgia Coffey all impressed in a strong performance from the visitors.

FULL TIME: PARKVILLE 1–3 HANOVER

The result didn’t go Parkville’s way, but there was plenty to be proud of. Some lovely passing football, chances created, determined defending and a great attitude from the girls right to the final whistle.

A beautiful sunny evening turning into a memorable first game under the new Parkville lights. 💡⚽

U14 Boys Black Team
Parkville United 0 - 1 Burrin Celtic

Parkville kicked off the new season on Saturday in the rain against visitors Burrin Celtic, with the visitors taking all 3 points in this very competitive game.

The first half was a tight affair with 20min of the home team applying all the pressure especially down the wings. Early chances were scarce for both sides with Burrin soaking up the pressure and looking to catch the home team on the break.

With 20 minutes gone on the clock Burrin played some nice passes and played the ball behind Parkville's defence. Burrin’s striker outpaced the Parkville defence and it was all the defender could do to take down the attacker in the box. Burrin was awarded a penalty and Jacob Barcoe stepped up and slotted the ball into the net, low in the left side. A well taken penalty.

Parkville rallied after conceding and were passing well creating good moves down the wing with Jack Kehoe coming into the left putting a nice ball into the box, but Parkville couldn’t finish it off.

Burrin, although under constant pressure, whenever they got the chance to attack put Parkville defence under a lot of pressure, hitting the crossbar and shortly after that forcing a fingertip save from Feidhlim Hunt in the Parkville goal.

Half time saw the teams go in with the score 0- 1 to Burrin.

Parkville pushed throughout the second half having more of the ball and passed it around very well. But even after hitting the crossbar and having a ball saved on the line by the Burrin keeper, they could not get the equaliser. Despite having the greater possession, Parkville could not relax with Burrin always posing a threat.

Both teams gave their best and it was a great game for the supporters.

Best for Parkville were Kian Kehoe, Aoibhenn Hunt & Jack Keogh.
Best for Burrin were Dylan Doyle, John Dowling and Jacob Barcoe.

U16 Boys Red Team
Parkville United 5 - 4 Slaney Rovers

Parkville welcomed Slaney to Hawkins Lane for the opening game of the season, and the local rivalry once again delivered a thrilling encounter.

Slaney struck first inside the opening five minutes, but Parkville quickly responded. Andrii Schulchenko levelled with a superb low finish after seeing an earlier effort come back off the post.

James Broughan then released John Nolan, who calmly finished to put Parkville ahead. Slaney levelled again before Nolan restored the lead just before half-time with a brilliant finish from a tight angle.

Half-time: Parkville 3–2 Slaney.

The second half was just as entertaining. Slaney drew level through an unfortunate own goal, but Parkville continued to push forward.

The fourth goal was a beauty. Tymoteusz Plonka battled to win the ball back before Cillian Maxwell escaped the Slaney press and found James Broughan. With the outside of his boot, Broughan picked out Daniel Malinowski, who timed his run perfectly before lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

4–3 Parkville.

Slaney pushed forward in search of an equaliser, leaving space for Parkville to exploit. Malinowski collected the ball inside his own half and played a superb pass in behind the Slaney defence. Nolan raced clear and produced a stunning finish into the top corner to complete his hat-trick.

Slaney pulled another goal back to set up a tense finale, but Parkville defended resolutely, with Jake Lacey leading the defensive effort, to see out the victory.

Full-time: Parkville 5–4 Slaney.

Nolan’s hat-trick will grab the headlines, but this was a fantastic team performance from Parkville. Character, resilience and quality throughout the team secured three valuable points in a nine-goal opening-day thriller.
