I had the privilege of covering the John O’ Mahony Memorial Match once again this year. It’s an honour to help Evan and the O’Mahony family capture moments that will become lifelong memories, from the build-up before the match right through to the end of the night in Jarrz.

Days like these can be emotional. There’s always pressure to capture the right moments, but seeing football bring so many people together to celebrate John’s life is something truly special. His memory lives on through days like this.

On a personal note, it was lovely to see my name on the jerseys. It’s a small reminder of how far this journey has come since I picked up the camera properly last summer.

A huge well done to both Villa FC and De La Salle for putting on a fantastic game and making the day a fitting tribute.

Last Sunday, Villa FC were crowned Munster Junior Cup champions after a 3–0 win over Aisling Annacotty.

Yesterday evening, they brought the trophy back to the club so the younger players could see it up close a nice moment for the next generation to see what can be achieved.

Took me a long time to put my work out there. No big moment, just a quiet decision to start. Looking back, I’m grateful I did.
