Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #42

Back in action this week thanks to our brilliant volunteers! It was a small group out on the course this morning, but there were still plenty of great performances to celebrate.

A big congratulations to Ryan Denny on a PB! 🎉

Our first three males home were Ryan Denny, Pavels Misins and Darren O’Beirne, while our first three females were Florence Bastow, Caroline Grandadam and Roisin McAvera. 👏

Well done to everyone who completed the Frank Duffy 10 Miler today - a fantastic achievement! 💪

And a special welcome to our visitors from Manchester and Malahide. We hope you enjoyed Broadmeadow Linear parkrun and that we’ll see you again soon! 💜

Thanks again to all our volunteers for making today possible. See you next week! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Our Top Volunteers 🏆

These two young men have been the backbone of Broadmeadow Linear parkrun since we started on 27th September 2025.

Every Saturday morning, Dylan Bastow and Noah Sheehan have been there, helping to make sure we have the dedicated volunteers we need to put on our parkrun safely and successfully.

Their commitment has gone far beyond simply turning up. They have also been working towards their Gaisce – President’s Award, completing their volunteering with us here at Broadmeadow Linear parkrun.

Over the past number of months, they have racked up more volunteer credits than anyone else in our event’s history. They currently hold the record for the two highest volunteering totals at BLp! 🥇🥈

A massive thank you, Dylan and Noah, for your incredible commitment, reliability and enthusiasm. Broadmeadow Linear parkrun simply wouldn’t be the same without you both.

👏 Thank you, lads! 👏

Unfortunately, due to a shortage of volunteers to fill key roles, tomorrow's parkrun (8th August) is cancelled.

I understand that people can have other commitments, or even that they volunteer elsewhere, but if we could just get each participant to volunteer at least once every 6 or 7 weeks, we’d always have a full roster.

Our parkrun turns one year old on the 26th September, so hopefully by then we'll have built up a solid volunteer habit at BLp!

Broadmeadow Linear parkrun #41

Our parkrun was back in action this morning. Huge thanks to our volunteers for making it happen 💜

A warm welcome to Christian Cabotaje who completed his first parkrun today. Hope you enjoyed and it was the first of many.

Our first finishers this week were Nicholas Ruiter, Jim McCafferty and Chris Keeling for the males and Florence Bastow, Caroline Grandadam and Dee Flood out of our females. Congratulations to you all 🎉🎉🎉

Big well done to Una Cox, Karen Connolly and John Moore for smashing out some new PBs 🥳

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made today’s event so enjoyable. We absolutely love our parkrun and are so proud to have reached our 41st event today.

As we’re still a relatively new parkrun, we’d love your help to keep growing. Please consider volunteering every so often, if you can. It would make a huge difference and help ensure our event continues to thrive for many more Saturdays to come 💜🫶💜

Afternoon Folks, hope you’re all looking forward to the long weekend. Let’s get the parkrun back on the road this week. The following volunteer roles are up for grabs:

- finish token support
- barcode scanner x 1
- tailwalker x 2

Please and thank you!

Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's parkrun (25th July 2026). We haven't been able to get enough volunteers to fill the essential roles on the roster. We often rely on the same core team from week to week, and this isn't sustainable in the long term. We'd love to hear from you if you'd be interested in getting involved at future events!

We're looking for 1 timekeeper and 1 finish tokens volunteer for tomorrow morning's parkrun. Can you help? Please message us!
