➡️Game Report: Sligo All-Stars 52–50 Rockets

Sligo All-Stars came away with a hard-fought 52–50 win over Rockets after a really close game.

Sligo started well and edged the first quarter 15–14, with Bláithín, Líle, Rachel Frain and Melissa helping the team settle into the game. A strong second quarter saw Sligo push on and take a 30–18 lead at half-time.

Rockets came back strongly after the break, but Sligo kept battling. Rebecca, Juliana, Abby and Rachel McGranaghan all played their part, while the whole team worked hard defensively as the game became much tighter.

The final quarter went right down to the wire, but Sligo stayed composed and did enough to hold on for the win. It was a great team effort from Bláithín, Líle, Rachel Frain, Melissa, Rebecca, Juliana, Abby and Rachel McGranaghan, with everyone contributing to an exciting 52–50 victory.

Final score: Sligo All-Stars 52–50 Rockets

Sligo All-Stars came away with a well-earned 39–30 win over Kingston Lions after a competitive game.

It was a real team effort from Sligo, with Líle, Rebecca, Abby, Rachel Frain, Bláithín, Melissa, Juliana, Rachel McGranaghan and Melissa all playing their part. Sligo worked hard defensively and, as the game went on, started to create more chances at the other end.

Líle and Rebecca helped keep Sligo organised, while Abby and Rachel Frain brought plenty of energy. Bláithín and Melissa worked hard defensively, with Juliana and Rachel McGranaghan also making important contributions. Líle gave Sligo another threat going forward and helped keep the pressure on Lions.

Lions made Sligo work right to the end, but the girls stayed composed and finished the game strongly to secure another good win. The win ensures a semi-final spot tomorrow morning.

Sligo All- Stars 77–14 AG Basket

Sligo All-Stars produced a dominant team performance, running out 77–14 winners over AG Basket after controlling the game from the opening quarter.

Sligo made a strong start and held AG Basket scoreless in the first quarter, taking a 14–0 lead. They continued to build on that advantage in the second, adding another 21 points to go into half-time 35–10 ahead.

There was no let-up after the break. Sligo put together another excellent defensive quarter, restricting AG Basket to just two points while scoring 20 themselves. That left the Allstars firmly in control heading into the fourth. A further 22 points in the final quarter completed an impressive all-round performance and sealed the 77–14 victory.

Líle Kelly ( #11) led the scoring with an outstanding 32 points, while Rachel Frain ( #29) added 12 and Rachel McGranaghan ( #66) finished with 10. Rebecca Brett ( #23) contributed 8, Blaithin O’Meara ( #35) scored 6, Abbie Giblin ( #28) had 5, with Melissa Ferrick ( #26) and Juliana Gormley ( #90) adding 2 points each.

A group of our fantastic U16 players flew to Nottingham yesterday ahead of their participation in a preseason tournament alongside coaches Elijah, Fergal& Ines.

The girls got off to an incredible start this morning with a comprehensive win v Dublin Raiders.

Sligo All-Stars 93–42 Dublin Raiders

Sligo All- Stars made a strong start against Dublin Raiders and secured an 93–42 win.

The press worked well in the first quarter, with Bláithín, Líle, Rachel, Melissa, Rebecca, Juliana and Abby all contributing to the defensive pressure. Their work forced turnovers and created quick scoring opportunities, helping Sligo build a 40–12 lead after the opening quarter.

Dublin improved in the second, but Sligo remained in control. Bláithín and Melissa helped keep the intensity high, while Líle, Rachel and Rebecca worked hard to limit Dublin’s chances. Líle also made a big impact on the scoreboard, scoring regularly and helping Sligo extend their lead to 60–22 at half-time.

The third quarter was more even, but Sligo continued to work well as a team. Juliana and Abby brought plenty of energy, while Bláithín, Líle, Rachel, Melissa and Rebecca helped Sligo maintain their advantage. Líle continued to contribute with important scores as the Allstars held a comfortable 76–35 lead going into the final period.

Sligo saw out the game comfortably, with every player making an important contribution to a strong team performance. The press set the tone early, while Líles scoring and the effort from Bláithín, Rachel F, Rachel McG, Melissa, Rebecca, Juliana and Abby helped Sligo secure the win.

Table Officials Needed – Please Consider Helping Our Club

Online Introductory and Table Official Course announced for 26 September.

Table officials are essential for every game, especially our underage fixtures. Without enough qualified volunteers, there is a real possibility that we may have to cancel or postpone games, meaning our young players could miss out on playing.

Anyone aged 14 years or older can complete the introductory course, no previous experience is necessary for the introductory course, and it’s a fantastic way to support the club and our players.
