Creative Sligo

Sligo is preparing to welcome the world’s largest replica 17th century Spanish galleon, El Galeon Andalucia, this week when it arrives into Deepwater Quay, Sligo Harbour on Wednesday, July 1.

Adverse weather conditions mean the ship’s arrival is behind schedule. It had been intended that the ship would arrive on Tuesday, June 30 but the arrival date has been changed slightly due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The planned opening ceremony, which had been scheduled for Wednesday morning has now been cancelled but organisers remain hopeful that the ship will open to the public, as scheduled, on Wednesday.
