Schools Regatta π«π£ββοΈ
Some of our junior athletes made the trip to O'Briensbridge on Sunday to compete at schools regatta.
They represented their schools across Sligo including Ursuline College Sligo, Cic Summerhill, Sligo Grammar School
Adam and Ben Foley stepped up for Sligo Grammar School in multiple events across the J16 and U23 events. Adam missed out on a pace in the U23 1x final, which had multiple international athletes in it, by less than 2 seconds. This is a credit to a strong winters training.
Vivian Gellert, Cara Higgins, Sally Rene McEnroe, and Niamh Mackey represented Ursuline College Sligo in the J16 category. These four young athletes came together in the J16 quad and narrowly missed a place in the top four to qualify for the final.
Tom Rene McEnroe, who is relativly new to the sport of rowing, raced the mens U23 1x for Summerhill College. Tom was drawn in an extremely fast heat with McCartney of Methodist, who has represented Ireland on numerous occasions. Nonetheless, Tom used this to his advantage and gain great experience.
Massive thanks to Limerick Regatta for a great weekend.
