GEAROIDS CALISTHENICS WORKSHOP 🪜⏳📈

Locations:

Glasgow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This Saturday 5th September ⏰2:00pm

Cork - Kinsale 🇮🇪 Friday 2nd October 5:30pm

Donegal - Bundoran 🇮🇪 (dates/times tbc)

Uk - Manchester 🇬🇧 (dates/times tbc)

Calisthenics has become a massive part of my life over the last number of years.

What started with simply wanting to get stronger and learn a few things on the bars ended up giving me a completely different relationship with training, with myself and with the most amazing community.

It’s given me discipline, structure, community, taken me around the world competing and, ultimately, given me something I genuinely love teaching and sharing with other people.

That’s really what this workshop is about.

A 2.5–3 hour practical workshop where I’ll be sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve picked up through years of training, coaching and competin, but keeping it hands-on, straightforward and applicable to your own training.

We’ll cover muscle-ups, pull-ups, push-ups, skills like front & back levers etc, strength & endurance, weighted calisthenics along with the programming and training principles behind actually progressing at them.

We’ll train, break things down, look at technique, work through different methods and progressions, ask questions and have a bit of craic along the way 👊

Whether you’re new to calisthenics or you’ve been at it for years, all levels are welcome.

The goal is simply to share my passion for calisthenics and hopefully have everyone leave with a better understanding of their own training and where to take it next.

I look forward to meeting, connecting and sharing with you all at the workshop 🫶🔥

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your training… is nothing ⚠️

One of the biggest mistakes we make in training is assuming more = better.

More sets.
More reps.
More sessions.
More muscle-ups.
More skill attempts.

But training is a stimulus. The actual adaptation happens afterwards.

You stress the muscles, tendons, joints and nervous system through training then you need to give your body the opportunity to recover and adapt to that stress.

And this becomes especially important with calisthenics.

Your muscles might feel capable of doing another 100 reps, while your wrists, elbows, shoulders and tendons are struggling to keep up.

The same goes for skills.

50 exhausted muscle-up attempts aren’t necessarily better than 5–10 quality attempts while fresh.

It’s not about avoiding hard training I massively believe in training hard.

It’s about understanding the difference between training hard with purpose and simply doing more because you feel like more must equal more progress.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is take the rest day.

Leave the rep in the tank.

Finish the session while you’re still moving well.

Take the deload.

Recover.

The longer you train, the more you realise that discipline isn’t only knowing when to push.

It’s also knowing when not to.

Train hard enough to give your body a reason to adapt.

Then give it the opportunity to actually do it.
