Every year, we choose up to three charities and organisations that we, as a club, are proud to support. This year, one of the three is Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team and we were delighted to donate €500 to their team of volunteers.
The incredible work is extremely important to the community and to everyone who enjoys spending time outdoors.
Thank you for everything you do!

What a great turnout for our club away race in Westport! 🏊♀️🚴♀️🏃♀️
More than 20 Sligo Tri members, along with plenty of supporters, made their way down to Westport last weekend for a glorious race weekend.
With Croagh Patrick providing the perfect backdrop, the first swimmers set off for the Olympic distance race, followed by the Super Sprint participants. The cycle along the bay offered some amazing views before everyone made their way back to the Quay and headed out onto the run.
Thanks to two laps on the Greenway, it sometimes felt like half the field was from Sligo Tri! Every few hundred metres, you’d pass another familiar face in the black and red tri suit, with plenty of encouragement along the way. ❤️🖤
We finished the race with some fantastic results, including Claire taking 2nd overall in the Super Sprint and Sheila finishing 2nd in her age category. Brilliant performances all around across both distances, well done everyone!
And of course, it wasn’t just about the racing… Saturday night saw some members testing out the Westport nightlife 💃
A huge thank you to and for such a fun and well organised race. We’ll definitely be back! 🙌

Today we’d like to give a massive shoutout to one of our members, . 🔊
Although Graeme is relatively new to the club, he has been an incredible help in the lead-up to this year’s Hazelwood Triathlon.
For the weeks before race day, Graeme was regularly checking in with the committee to ask what needed doing and how he could help. Before long, he had taken on a huge amount of responsibility, organising food for the early morning crew, making sure marshals had water, sourcing trestle tables, providing a large kettle boiler, and helping with countless other jobs.
Graeme couldn’t have been more generous with his time or more willing to lend a hand.
A talented swimmer in his youth in Scotland, Graeme joined the club last year through our Men’s Initiative and even competed in last year’s Hazelwood Triathlon as part of a relay team. It’s always fantastic to see new members getting involved, but to see someone embrace the club and help out so much really is something else.
From everyone at the club, thank you, Graeme. Your hard work, enthusiasm and generosity made a real difference, and is very much appreciated. 🥳👏
