“There is only one health, but many diseases “
Tomorrow is World Su***de Prevention Day.
But, everyday is a good day to practice compassion for anyone (including oneself) who struggles with their mental health.
Not everything is as it seems.

I’m interested in the history of physical culture and have found this YouTube channel. It’s great.
This short (under 5 mins) video is about 19th century dumbbells , they were wooden and light.Boxers used them for suppleness and agility. I’m reminded that Joe Pilates was a boxer and gymnast.
Stay tuned till the end to watch Charlie Chaplin training at the gym.
Enjoy

Found a plastic bottle from Malaysia on the beach in Sligo ( Ireland)today. No message in the bottle but plenty of meaning.
Could mean it’s travelled through many oceans to get here. Yikes! The Plastic pandemic, it’s been going on for decades.
I also wondered about the message/meaning of the clouds . The sky in Sligo has been stunning recently, the clouds have been like avenues across the sky, low and high, wide and narrow.

Does the gut control the brain?
A diverse microbiome may be protective against neuropsychiatric disorders like anxiety, depression and more.
Low intensity light therapy is a laser therapy where the levels of light used aren’t strong enough to heat the body. Low intensity laser therapy has been shown (in animal studies) to increase good bacteria and diversify the microbiome.
A healthy environment is key to good mental and physical health.
It’s an interesting blog with easy to digest information on all things brainy.
Harnessing the Power of the Microbiome for Better Brain Health!
When in the 1960s and 1970s several peptides were discovered to occur both in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, the term “gut-brain axis” was first coined, based on the prevailing concept that the brain would be esse...

Getting stronger, it’s all in your head or rather your brain.
Initial gains in muscle strength from strength training are due primarily to changes in the central nervous system. Training helps your brain better communicate with your muscles.
It surely is a mind/ body connection.
Get into it.
How We Get Stronger
Weight training prompts changes in the nervous system that prime the muscles to get bigger and stronger.

This video is a good one, if you or someone you know is vaccine uncertain, getting informed is going to help in the decision making process.
This is my brief, layman summary. The new covid 19 vaccine is a MRNA vaccine. The technology is supercool.
1st we need to understand that a virus cannot live without a host, so it invades your cells to hijack your cell machinery so it can reproduce. Once the virus starts to reproduce you are infected.
RNA works for your DNA, MRNA is the code that (yours/ or virus) DNA sends out to make proteins . It is short lived and once it does its job ,it is excreted by the cell.
The vaccine contains the MRNA of the covid 19 virus. The vaccines intention is to get the proteins (spike proteins)that this MRNA produce into your body so your immune system will recognize these proteins as invaders and produce antibodies.
Vaccines train your body’s immune system to be stronger, (just like a good pilates instructor) but it needs the input from the vaccine for a faster more efficient response to prevent infection.
You will not get infected by the vaccine as RNA only needs the cytoplasm of the cell to produce proteins. It won’t go near your cell nucleus .
This is supercool science and very exciting technology. The virus adapted and evolved over hundreds of years to invade humans, humans adapt and respond with an intelligent vaccine.
Cmon the Humans.
